Job Overview:


The Director of Datacenter Operations leads IT Infrastructure Engineering and Operations teams. He/she is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure including: Planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring the Data Center Operations, weather on prem or cloud. Maintenance and support services for all hardware and software and its supporting infrastructure, overseeing the technical infrastructure as it relates to servers, storage and affiliate infrastructure(s) that provide service capability to the business. This position is accountable for the strategic and tactical management of systems, servers and enterprise applications.


Responsibility and duties:

  • Set the mission and vision and strategic roadmap for the IT Infrastructure of the organization
  • Lead the Storage, Compute, Database, Cloud and Network Engineering and Operations teams
  • Oversees people processes and programs across the team to ensure talent for current and future needs by providing functional and technical leadership
  • Develop and control the annual infrastructure operating and capital expenditure budget
  • Partners with IT teams in the development, implementation, and management of IT's controls, policies, procedures, practices, and processes to protect the organization's IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the organization and to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Leads the end-to-end systems infrastructure design, capacity planning and performance management to meet systems requirements while finding opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement
  • Lead contract negotiations for infrastructure technologies
  • Advise emerging technologies that should be integrated and/or introduced to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the business strategy
  • Support of IT systems that align with the achievement of business goals.
  • Oversee operational and service management processes to ensure quality, security, efficiency, and agility goals are achieved.
  • Forecast future needs to acquire and develop an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree with a focus in Information technology
  • 10 years' minimum experience in Infrastructure Technology
  • 5+ years working in cloud-based environments
  • 5+ years of experience in large, multi-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key partners effectively across the organization
  • Has a strong technical vision and knowledge of industry trends and directions that can help the team and organization make good tactical and long range decisions and choices
  • Deep knowledge of change management, root cause analysis, problem solving, technical project management, resolving production outages/impacts, and implementing permanent resolutions for issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fiscally responsible with experience in managing budgets, vendor negotiations, and streamlining services
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate an I&O vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the enterprise strategy
  • Good interpersonal skills; attention to details
