Director of Product Marketing: CPG

The Director of Product Marketing : Commercial Products Group (CPG) leads a team responsible for driving the revenue and profit goals for the Consumer Products Group. In this role, you will drive impact across functional teams that include engineering, operations, sales, and marketing to define leading memory and storage products and solutions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build and execute go-to-market channel enablement strategies and enable the sales team and the commercial channel partners to align to business objectives. This role guides a team of product marketers responsible for our portfolio of consumer, enterprise, and data center DRAM and SSD products.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Market Trends and Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze the competitive landscape
  • Understand the current and future trends in the storage & memory space in the commercial channel and evaluate which trends make commercial and economic sense for Micron to pursue

Roadmap and Product Portfolio Management

  • Partner with Product Development team on Micron's long-term roadmaps for Crucial branded Consumer DRAM & SSD, and Micron branded Cloud DRAM & SSD products and solution offerings
  • Drive the portfolio roadmap through product marketing strategies enabling the team to meet its business goals
  • Enable strong go-to-market execution for product launches and expansion of existing product portfolio

Go-to-Market Plan and Execution

  • Work with regional sales managers, Channel marketers, and channel partners to understand customer demand and market segmentation to drive applicable forecasts to support the product line
  • Develop cohesive go-to-market plans in conjunction with sales and channel marketing for new product introduction
  • Work with Global Marketing and brand marketing teams to define our market message for the Consumer & Cloud DRAM & SSD business and corresponding initiatives

Sales and Channel Enablement

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our product portfolio in the global market
  • Communicate the value proposition of the product portfolio to the global sales team and develop sales tools that support the selling process
  • Outline and implement a plan to prepare the channel partners for new products
  • Partner with Pricing team and Channel Marketing for in quarter specific product promotion needs based on market or competitive changes

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in product marketing and enabling and launching products in e/retail, System Integrators (SI) and the distribution/reseller channel
  • Deep understanding of consumer semiconductor industry and the commercial channel
  • Track record of developing teams with outstanding problem-solving skills. You are not just repeating a playbook, you are looking at every problem with fresh eyes and digging deep for insights and solutions.
  • Results-oriented and acts in the best interests of the company. Smart, articulate, collaborative.
  • Outstanding Marketing Skills – Superior marketing mind, can see big market opportunities yet able to focus on segments that deliver profitable revenue in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration and Influencing Skills – Utilizes interpersonal relations, judgment skills, and data to guide senior management and influence outcomes.
  • Very detail-oriented, able to be a trusted advisor to a highly technical leadership team.
  • Comfortable with pace and pressure – Revels in accomplishing a great deal in a short period of time. Passionate about delivering against challenging timelines and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.
