DRAM Product Quality Engineer

While working in a highly innovative DEM (DRAM and Emerging Memory) Qualification team you will be responsible for developing test programs for use in the various facets of the qualification processes for Micron’s DRAM and Emerging Memory products. Your technical skills will be used analyze and resolve failures that are generated by these programs as well as innovate new methods for discovering reliability risks that are unique to these products. In this role, you will work closely with various engineering groups to evaluate and implement corrective action needed due to the failures. Some responsibilities will be to modify, write, and maintain code that runs on automated equipment to verify that the device-under-test (DUT) is functional to a given set of conditions. You may also participate in the design and checkout of the hardware that is used to interface between the tester and the DUT.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

 

  • Generate Quality/Reliability Test Flows for specific stresses (Package, Die, Process)
  • Perform test flow optimization (e.g. shorten test time without compromising quality)
  • Generate custom flows that will help resolve any reliability concerns on the memory product.
  • Perform Device Characterization
  • Identify DRAM dataset parameters to characterize
  • Understand what the part’s margin to spec is and what concerns we might have
  • Log characterization values to a database so that any trends are easily understood.
  • Analyze Device Failures to understand the electrical signature and potential root cause
  • Provide failure data to appropriate group (Product engineering, Assembly, PYE, Fab)
  • Generate custom patterns unique to the various DRAM products
  • For internal failures, perform electrical analysis on verified failures
  • Help to resolve containment for quality failures and identify corrective actions that are needed
  • Maintain knowledge of various failure modes and how different tests affect those failure modes
  • Utilize analysis tools (Bit Map, Shmoo, Wave Trace, Micromate, etc.)
  • Adjust timing edges, patterns, and levels
  • Provide Global Quality Test Floor Support
  • Provide on-call support and respond to production issues to maintain 24x7 operation
  • Solve problems seen on our production floor
  • Advise on priority schedules and systems (e.g. optimize efficiency/batching)
  • Find opportunities to improve floor efficiency
  • Provide Quality/Reliability Software Support
  • Generate scripts for database queries (to make large quantities of data meaningful)
  • Write software to research and implement efficiency improvements
  • Write software for device characterization trending and analysis
  • Participate in new design validation and debugging of software and hardware

 

Experience:

 

  • Experience in Circuit Analysis, Python and C/C++
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivation and passion

 

Education:

 

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Preferred: MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
