CMOS DTCO Engineer

Boise, ID, US

Req. ID: 192341

Micron Technology’s vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life and our commitment to people, innovation, tenacity, collaboration, and customer focus allows us to fulfill our mission to be a global leader in memory and storage solutions. This means conducting business with integrity, accountability, and professionalism while supporting our global community.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to work in design-technology- co-optimization (DTCO) for advanced memory nodes. The person in this role would be embedded in a memory pathfinding team and would drive early definition of CMOS for memory technologies. Building roadmaps for CMOS consistent with the memory roadmap is part of this job definition. Strong contributions to CMOS innovation are expected, resulting in improved die size, power or performance of the particular memory class. This is a highly inter-disciplinary role where you will be required to interact daily with design, process integration and modeling teams. This requires diverse skills, and we are seeking demonstrated strength in one or more of the following:

  • Modeling, parasitic extraction, layout of standard cells. Simulation of simple/small circuits to assess performance and power, using partial/experimental or full design kits
  • Ability to break down power-performance-area according to changes in design kit, process elements or design rules changes
  • Ability to understand and address separately key power-performance-area enablers and their modeling
  • Understand internal structure of EDA tools used and how best to capture technology features
  • Design rules: understand link between design rules and process; understand impact of design rules on density and performance- from gate level to block level
  • Familiar with recent CMOS standard cell architectures and layout; interaction with process/design rules
  • Prior interactions with TCAD and/or process modeling, understand the strengths and limitations of TCAD
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with design and process integration teams to drive the changes needed to improve power-performance-area
  • Applied experience in reducing complicated issues of power, performance and area density to simpler concepts that can be tried and tested on a small scale

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in EE or related fields
  • Prior DTCO experience preferred
