Array Characterization Engineer - Emerging Memory Cell Development

Array Characterization Engineers work with technology development teams that defines the industry in groundbreaking technologies to enable future semiconductor memory products! This position pioneers the development and manufacturing deployment of the 3D Xpoint and other sophisticated technologies. You will be developing memory array characterization techniques, analyzing electrical test results, and driving improvements to cell performance and reliability. In addition, you will drive continuous improvements in product performance though the debug, design, simulation and implementation of circuit and process optimization. As part of the position you will work creatively with the Design, Process Development, and Product Engineering teams.


This position is located in Boise, ID or San Jose, CA.



  • Knowledge of mainstream semiconductor memory technologies such as DRAM, NAND, NOR, and PCM
  • Experience with alternative / emerging memory technologies (desired)
  • Proficiency with electrical device data collection and analysis, DOE, and statistical techniques
  • Understand circuit operation and product architecture in semiconductor memory components
  • Experience in product development engineering (desired)
  • Ability to lead an engineering project, including defining and guiding the team's activities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication capabilities (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Experience working in a global cross-functional team environment



M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics
