Administrator, People Services - Contractor

The People Service Center is one of the key “faces” of People Services to Micron team members, offering a centralized online portal and service center for reporting People-related issues, answering People Services questions and performing People Services transactions and requests. As a People Services Administrator at Micron Technology, Inc., you will respond to and track customer requests and inquiries, support People systems and programs, and contribute to the People Services Knowledgebase and Standard Operating Procedures to improve processes and achieve high standards for first-call resolution. You will support People Services daily operations and projects to drive continuous improvement of People Services in the service center environment. You will also be expected to drive continuous improvement of calls and requests (Mean Time to Respond), timely resolution/answers to calls (Mean Time to Resolve), identify opportunities for self-service options, and ensure that Service Level Agreements are met.


The role is 6-12 months contract. It's unlikely for the role to be converted. 


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Respond to Customer Requests and Inquiries
  • Receive requests from customers through ServiceNow (case management tool) or other communication method such as, telephone, email, or walk-in
  • Enter request into tracking program, as appropriate
  • Utilize PeopleNow and knowledge articles or research and troubleshoot requests as needed to provide answers and clarification to improve first call resolution
  • Maintain Personnel and Organizational Records
  • Refer to Standard Operating Procedures and policies for the applicable process to ensure accuracy when processing
  • Escalate issues to service managers or other appropriate party, as needed
  • Update the relevant People Services system of record with applicable information
  • Validate data changes in the People system of record, notifying applicable parties of data changes as needed
  • Receive training from appropriate party for new or changed services
  • Complete and maintain any assigned or required training from Micron
  • Monitor and review process effectiveness in the Service Center environment
  • Provide input to service manager regarding changes, gaps, or improvements, as needed
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and knowledge base which includes Identifying repetitive questions or requests that can be addressed through the self-service model (PeopleNow, FAQ, MicronNow)
  • Support projects as assigned, which includes driving improvement projects to enhance People Services team’s accuracy and efficiency in delivering People Services
  • Support People Services System Transactions and Programs across the employee lifecycle
  • Administer changes to worker data, such as insurance change forms, marital status, LOA, separation (for defined groups), and termination of benefits
  • Administer the employment verification process and employment data tracking, including work authorization
  • Facilitate position management and new-hire processing in the HRIS tool
  • Hire and maintain non-employee workers
  • Provide support to employee programs as needed (service awards, company store) (NA only)
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews
  • Facilitate performance plan support
  • Maintain Company and Worker Data Processes
  • Facilitate hiring actions and support/process personnel changes in People systems
  • Coordinate interfaces to vendors, administer billing for benefits / insurance/CBC/DT as appropriate



  • Required
    • High School Diploma General Studies or High school equivalency diploma (such as the GED)
  • Preferred
    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience Business Human Resource Management
    • Certification or mastery training in SAP (HR SCM), Success Factors, and/or SharePoint   


People Services Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal) and the ability to communicate with team members and management at all levels in the company.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills/ time management and prioritize a high-volume workload and the ability to multitask to meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal and work with worker and company related confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
  • Basic knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Experience with SAP ERP HCM (Enterprise Resource Planning, Human Capital Management) software (helpful but not required).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in Human Resources or a Customer Service Center or Shared Service Center environment.
  • Experience with claims processing (preferred).
  • Ability to learn processes quickly in a virtual environment and able to be self-sufficient by leveraging SOPs and other tools to complete work
  • Willing to work virtually and move back to a work site location when needed
