SSD Technical Program Manager - Automotive Safety

As an SSD Technical Program Manager (TPM) in the SSD engineering group you will enable and support the SSD product development teams to deliver programs on schedule and to specification with high quality by following Micron’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and templates. A successful TPM will understand the various SSD subsystems, the SSD development and qualification processes and how SSD customers qualify and purchase product.

As the Automotive Safety TPM and SSD Process Owner, you will be the primary contact for all teams to ensure process compliance and successful audits. 

As an independently functioning Process Owner/Technical Program Manager, you must collaborate effectively with other functions around the world to support a successful product delivery into high volume manufacturing. This will work will involve product definition, project planning, creating and maintaining schedules, managing risks, product validation and characterization work, executing to Micron’s qualification requirements, completing customer product qualifications and providing customer support.

 Job requirements and deliverables include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and executing Micron’s SSD Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process
  • Expert working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 26262, IATF-16949 and A-SPICE standards, end customer requirements and the audit/certification processes
  • Demonstrated ability to document and improve current R&D processes within time and cost constraints
  • Hold engineering teams accountable to the schedule and Boundary Agreements
  • Hold engineering teams accountable for meeting standard interim and final product milestones that achieve their respective requirements/criteria
  • Drive program alignment amongst between all cross functional teams to ensure all low-level dependencies are captured and tracked
  • Provide accurate and current program health and tracking metrics weekly to all stakeholders
  • Track drive build plan usage post-delivery into development teams
  • Generate program status reports with inputs from cross functional teams that include technical status, schedule, risk, quality and other program health metrics
  • Drive the completion of technical product specifications that meet customer requirements
  • Work with other TPMs and process owners to continuously improve SSD processes
  • Demonstrate and model for others effective use of Micron’s tools and processes

Minimum qualifications:

  • 4-7 years or equivalent experience in electronic/semiconductor system development, preferably SSD or other mass data storage system
  • Experience in managing ISO 9001, ISO 26262, IATF-16949 and A-SPICE audits/certifications at a product line level with corporate audit ownership a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering concurrent, multiple complex programs in a dynamic environment/industry
  • 4-7 years program management experience, including Agile development methodologies. People management experience is a plus.
  • Strong meeting leadership, collaboration and influencing skills that result in clear problem resolution and go forward plans
  • Demonstrated successful work with internal and external cross functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with engineering, management and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated quick learning in new situations with high level of self-motivation, passion and dedication
