Senior Manager, SSD Manufacturing

You will be responsible for directing and overseeing the SSD manufacturing organization, leading a high performing team and developing current and future Micron leaders.  Provides leadership and direction to the manufacturing team and ensures manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.  Oversees staffing, including hiring, training and scheduling for production.  Ensures production follows appropriate workflow and assembly methods.  Monitors and evaluates workflow and assembly methods and makes recommendations for process improvements.  Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage Manufacturing Resources

· Assess market and loading conditions, available materials, and regulatory requirements.

· Define requirements for team members, facilities, tools, and materials.

· Evaluate current manufacturing processes.

· Identify opportunities for improvement.

· Establish and implement action plans to improve processes.

· Follow up implemented plans and improvements.

 

Manage Workforce

· Assess current workforce and forecast future needs.

· Determine skill level of current team members.

· Identify potential candidates for promotion.

· Establish and implement an action plan for developing team member skills.

· Succession Planning

 

Maintain Production Quality and Output

· Sustain process uniformity.

· Define processes and identify nonconformities.

· Establish and implement action plans to remove nonconformities.

· Define production expectations.

 

Assess compliance with production expectations.

· Establish and implement action plans to comply with production expectations.

· Monitor and follow up with production to maintain uniformity and area expectations.

 

Communicate Information

· Assess the information that needs to be communicated.

· Determine when to communicate the information.

· Determine the method of communication.

· Communicate the information and follow up as necessary.

 

Adhere to and Promote Safety

· Encourage and enforce safe, compliant behavior through periodic communications and the performance management process.

· Review and respond to reports from supervisors, EHSS staff, and auditors.

· Perform work area inspections and observations of area of operations.

· Maintain area procedures and training required to ensure legal compliance and conformance to management system.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years manufacturing related experience

· Strong leadership skills (leading without authority = cross functional teams)

· Demonstrate concise and clear communication (written and verbal)

· Strong Project / Program management skills

· Critical thinking / problem solving skills
