As a Quality Management Systems (QMS) Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying critical Quality Systems or processes, measuring system performance, and initiating quality improvement projects or activities. You will analyze and report on data and metrics and evaluate and propose solutions to address problems and improve performance. You will also support other Quality teams to conduct audits, gap analysis, and corrective action implementation, or maintain ISO certifications


Develop and Improve Micron’s Quality Management Systems 

  • Drive Micron customer feedback and response program
  • Administer surveys and analyze best practices for techniques and processes
  • Support ISO certification efforts
  • Support internal audit program by conducting ISO9001/TS16949 audits, gap analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Research best practices and conduct benchmarking related to QMS processes, methods, and tools
  • Based upon the overall Quality System performance, identify critical systems or processes where quality improvements are required, initiate projects or activities to analyze, evaluate and propose solutions to address the problem and improve performance


 Collect and Analyze Data 

  • Analyze data and metrics to develop suggestions for the improvement of processes and the QMS
  • Collect data to identify root cause of problems
  • Summarize performance metrics for management review
  • Develop and maintain corporate quality and functional or process metric dashboards
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement
  • Utilize problem-solving methods and tools to solve complex problems



Manage and Participate in Projects and Initiatives 

  • Identify and drive Quality Systems projects from initiation to completion
  • Diagram and model existing processes
  • Evaluate existing business processes for performance improvement
  • Plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Identify and develop systems that support business processes (workflow, data, user interface, etc.)
  • Organize, lead, or facilitate cross-functional project teams and communicate team progress
  • Utilize quality methods and tools to drive process improvement





Provide Technical Expertise and Consultation 

  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, managers, clients, and others
  • Maintain knowledge of semiconductor products, processing, failure modes, and reliability mechanisms
  • Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques or quality improvement methods to improve process performance and product quality
  • Deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control
  • Perform cost and benefit analyses and aid decision making through data analysis, decision analysis, potential problem/opportunity analysis etc.
  • Provide performance indices
  • Identify and report against metrics
  • Manage and resolve issues (obstacles)
  • Escalate issues as appropriate



  • 1-year experience in each of the following:  Engineering, Semiconductor industry
  • Excellent skills for leading or facilitating multi-organizational teams to success on complex multidimensional projects
  • Excellent communication skills to build teams comprised of key skills, to drive progress to plan and to get management support and buy-in for complex projects
  • Ability to drive problem resolution to root cause
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Kepner-Tregoe methodologies, Lean concepts, 8D problem solving, and other quality and statistical methods and tools will be advantageous
