Staff Engineer Validation & Char

Role

In this role as a Staff Engineer Design in Micron’s Non-Volatile Engineering Group, you will be collaborating for crafting test architecture & implementation of test circuits for next generation ASIC products for Micron on most recent technology nodes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute silicon validation and characterization of high-speed parallel links such as ONFI, DDR and Micron custom interfaces.
  • prepare test, debug and compliance reports for the high-speed links
  • Drive first silicon Bring up, Debug and Qualify Test chips and ASIC.
  • Evaluate parametric performance of high-speed link IPs and perform the failure analysis to root cause the design issue
  • Leading, mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Work with ASIC, HW, System and Application engineering team across the globe in a time critical environment to understand technical requirements and prepare test program
  • Pair with similar domain specialists across other geographical locations on core technical initiatives

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-12 years of best-in-class Validation & Char Engineering experience, in which atleast 5years of Validation leadership experience.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Test and Characterization of high-speed interfaces such as DDR, NAND or SERDES with in-depth understanding of timing diagrams and standard protocol.
  • Hands on experience with Electrical parametric compliance testing including Eye Diagram with and without de-embedding, various Jitter analysis, Receiver -Jitter-Tolerance
  • Hands on Experience of using bench instruments such as Oscilloscopes, J-BERT, network/Spectrum Analyzers. Signal generators, Logic analyzers is a must.
  • Bench Characterization for Leading edge LPDDR & SERDES PHY sub-components such as IOs, PLL, DLL, Impedance calibrator, reference generators and LDOs.
  • Exposure on Lab Automation tools (LabVIEW) / Python / other scripting languages and ability to write SW macros and test program is a must.
  • The position requires good written & verbal communication skills as well a strong commitment and ability to work in multi-functional and globally dispersed teams.
  • M.S./MTech, BS/BE.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong verbal, interpersonal skills
  • Must have experience with DDR, NAND or SERDES .
  • Hands on experience Electrical parametric compliance testing
  • J-BERT, network/Spectrum Analyzers, Signal generators & Logic analyzers.
