JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

As a Managed NAND Design (MND) Media Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing system media error avoidance and error recovery features throughout all product development phases. You will work with NAND Development, Media Architecture and Firmware engineering to solve media related issues involving media behavior, and functionality.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Analysis, verification and tuning of media management algorithms.
  • Design experiments, collect & analyze data to understand NAND behavior.
  • Work directly with NAND Development teams and Media Architecture teams to solve issues throughout the entire product development phase. 
  • Work closely with Firmware Development team to understand firmware requirements on NAND and make sure NAND can meet all requirements. Actively involved in firmware development to solve issues and provide solutions.
  • Work with the Media Architecture team to collect NAND data to ensure product configuration and FW algorithms are functioning correctly.
  • Act as NAND expert to support cross function teams (Design Lead, PDT, Firmware, Product Validation, etc.) to ensure product development is running smoothly.  

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Semiconductor industry working experience is preferred.  
  • Good semiconductor device and process knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity NAND operation, and technology
  • Experience with NAND quality and reliability is a plus
  • Good data analysis skills including basic statistics knowledge
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as JMP and MS Excel
  • Ability to program in C, C++ or Python
  • Ability to use Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, etc. to capture waveforms for issue debug 
  • Solid PC skills
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, good team work and communication skills
  • The ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers
  • The ability to apply creative and inventive ideas to resolve difficult issues
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

 

EDUCATION:

MS in Microelectronics, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field
