As an NPI Engineer at Micron Semiconductor (Xi’an) Co., Ltd, you will be responsible for the development and management of an NPI Build to support Module, Component in the development stage. This includes but is not limited to requirements from Design, Qualification, Business Units, Product Engineering and Marketing and covers the time from product inception through the early part of High Volume Manufacturing. You will also be responsible for providing insight and support for supply chain and demand planning. Other responsibilities include providing analytical and supply chain/build expertise throughout the development process.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Create, maintain and manage the build schedule for New Product Introduction, New Product Proliferation Control Build, Engineering Samples, Customer Samples, Qualification Samples or other Pre-HVM Samples from key functional groups to meet the overall development build cycle

  • Gather separate forecasts from different functional groups (Product Engineering, BU, etc)
  • Drive operations, engineering and all relevant organization to deliver according to the build schedule
  • Review and communicate build metrics and assumptions
  • Use exception management to highlight changes to be reviewed
  • Analyze deltas for recommended build schedule
  • Create Build Schedule and obtain consensus from key stakeholders
  • Manage access, maintenance and changes to the NPI Build Schedule

 

Facilitate Supply/Demand Matching

  • Highlight and review changes to Build Schedule
  • Track action items to drive resolution on any related issues
  • Review assumptions
  • Use data driven analysis to drive optimal strategy
  • Adjust demand or supply based on the outcomes of analysis.
  • Communicating supply response to key stakeholders

 

Evaluate and Recommend Safety Stock/Inventory Strategy and Execution

  • Collaborate with PE Planning, Supply Planning and PE teams to monitor inventory levels
  • Validate inventory levels with Business Operations
  • Make adjustment as needed

 

Provide Expertise and Consultation

  • Own process documentation
  • Conduct internal and external research to identify benchmarks
  • Respond to internal customer questions and requests
  • Act as a consultant or liaison to internal customers
  • Investigate issues raised by internal customers
  • Track and improve key demand planning performance metrics
  • Drive improvements to the overall process efficiency and communication with key stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 2 years working experience in semi-conductor industry. Familiar with semi-conductor manufacturing process, SMT process.  
  • New product introduction (NPI) experience is a plus.
  • Good data analysis and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point or any equivalent software.
  • Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.
  • Customer focus, positive attitude, good team worker.
