Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) Engineer Description

As a EFA Engineer in Micron Xi’an, you will be responsible for providing full electrical failure analysis on Dram products, both component and modules. You are required to work with manufacturing process owners to perform fault isolation through a combination of electrical characterization and data analysis to identify manufacturing process induced defects. Additionally, you are expected to present your findings and provide in-sight on possible fail model to assist manufacturing process owners to find and fix the root cause.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Consolidate inputs from problem solving team to narrow down hypothesis
  • Extract data and use various data analytical tools to select the right samples for EFA
  • Perform Failure Analysis and Fault Isolation 
  • Conduct bench testing and device timing characterization 
  • Apply various FA tools to further gather supporting data to pin point the possible mechanism causing the observed defects   
  • Present failure analysis report explaining “causes and effort” to problem solving team  

     

    Qualifications/Requirement:

  • Bachelor or Master in Material, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering
    • Courses should include VLSI design, semiconductor physics, devices, material engineering
    • Good command of English 

       

  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in the following:  
  • FA experience in any semiconductor industries with focus on electrical fault isolation.
  • Good hands on experience with FA tools in area of curve tracer, bench testers, SEM, e-beam, ion-miller, FIB, Auger, EDX etc
  • Good knowledge in assembly process flow eg packaging

     

  • Added Advantages
    • Exposure in Dram testing, design, FA or EFA on RMA
    • Strong command in English both written and spoken
    • Lab work experience in multi-national companies
    • Lead team before 

       

  • Other Requirements
    • Willing to travel oversea for period up to 3 months
    • Willing to work overtime
