Job Description:

As an Incoming Quality Control Engineer at Micron, you will support Incoming Quality Systems by providing key metrics, support Quality Systems strategic direction, participate in Quality activities and interacting on continuous improvement projects. Additional responsibilities include serving as the Site Quality liaison for partner groups and manufacturing areas, providing support for Quality documentation, and developing relationships to collaboratively generate new ideas and procedures to keep pace with industry standards and methods. You will be relied upon to create strong morale and team spirit by sharing wins and successes, fostering open dialog, acknowledging team dynamics, and maintaining positive relationships.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Support Supplier Quality Systems

·  Protect Microns intellectual property and trade secrets


·  Demonstrate ability and desire to understand new Quality and Risk Mitigation processes and strategies


·  Facilitate and lead issue resolution activities as the Quality liaison for partner groups and manufacturing areas


·  Provide support for centralized Quality documentation


·  Compile information and distribute to partner groups and suppliers


·  Support Quality Systems strategy and roadmap activities


·  Responsible for quality of material


·  Compile FAI (first article inspection) report when qualify new material


·  Monitor the certification expiry of each direct material supplier and supplier quality performance


·  Monitor operator performance


·  Inspect dimension of selected material once needed


Support the Alignment of Systems and Processes to Drive Efficiencies

·  Generate and maintain Key Metrics


·  Attend and actively participate in Material Review Board (MRB), Material Change Notification (MCN), Key Materials Group (KMG), and Supplier Quality Notify (SQN) meetings and make decisions in a timely manner


·  Participate in workshops and meetings to drive Quality activities


·  Participate in Incoming Quality Engineer alignment and continuous improvement projects


·  Focus on activities that increase quality through Quality Systems usage, and efficiency while balancing time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and opportunity constraints


·  Provide consulting and hands-on assistance, to area and manufacturing teams for creation and identification of best known practices


·  Use all available resources to manage the successful completion of goals (including resources outside of the area)


·  Maintain knowledge of business practices in each manufacturing area


·  Focus on Quality process alignment across sites and areas through close interaction with customers and suppliers




Support Business Processes



·  Support multiple projects based on partner groups, department, and corporate objectives

·  Provide data for key metrics


·  Motivate stakeholders and all project team members to take ownership of projects and their successes


·  Coordinate priorities and activities to accomplish project tasks in manufacturing areas


·  Support Supplier Audit activities


·  Support Supplier Management activities with stakeholder groups


·  Hold self and others accountable for meeting goals and action items from projects, meetings, and conversations
