Job Description:

 

As YE EFA Section Manager, you are responsible for overseeing activities related to the technical support and process engineering functions in the EFA section of the YE Department (Fab16, Taichung). Your responsibilities include identifying yield detractors, and directing the EFA group to improving product yields and quality for existing products. Additionally, you may act as an engineering liaison with internal customers to ensure processes meet the needs of identified customers. Other responsibilities include providing input to select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

                                                       

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Adheres to all company-wide and departmental safety and environmental policies
  • Drive Yield/Quality Improvements by leading the Electrical Failure Analysis Team.
  • Tactical Management:
    • Quick/proper reaction to new yield issues requiring EFA analysis.
    • Provide guidance to EFA group to resolve and prioritize issues in an effective and timely manner.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams by taking on actions and providing EFA expertise.
  • Strategic Management:
    • Ensure EFA team is prepared to support the Electrical analysis needs of current and future products. Strives to improve EFA effectiveness and turnaround times when possible.
    • Effectively plan for required resources, product mix adjustments, new technology development and changes to company objectives.
    • Is responsible for the growth of the team and proper preparation to meet and exceed company goals.
    • Establish a “Vision” for the group that aligns with corporate and site objectives; Communicate group “Vision” to manager, eventual reports and key stakeholders.
    • Lead by example by being proactive, punctual, respectful, and by communicating openly.
  • Area Specific Responsibilities
    • Works to improve or maintain yield on all parts in their product family.
    • Directs and prioritizes unknown yield issues with engineering team
    • Ensures effective and efficient communication of defect data and follow-up for resolution of root cause
    • Leader of margin bin failure isolation, makes suggestions for the best chance of PFA success.
    • Works beyond defect identification toward root cause by suggesting potential fail mechanisms.
    • Works with PI and Process areas to understand and resolve issues. Looks for ways to partner.

Interacts not only with internal PIE teams, but with design teams and product engineering when EFA unveils opportunities to improve design (ex: reticle marginalities).
