Job Responsibilities

As the leader of the Global Quality Audit program at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be expected to manage a department responsible for Auditing all Global QMS processes and systems along with several other components such as CAPA execution, Control Plan execution, and other items as needed to drive improvement in Micron’s business results. This will require you to sustain knowledge of QMS standards, Project Management standards, methods and tools. You will need to work regularly with business process owners, Global Quality personnel, Site QE, Suppler Quality, MFG Subcon Quality, and other stake holders to ensure the audit process is providing the value Micron is looking for.  You will be responsible for establishing audit roadmaps, interacting globally and advising on a regular basis with internal and external customers.


You will be responsible for making administrative or operational decisions and ensuring effective achievement of Global Quality Audit objectives. In this role you will manage the planning, design, and execution of Customer, Registrar, Supplier, and Internal Quality related audits of systems and operational processes. You will interact regularly with executives and managers and make recommendations as appropriate, ensuring QMS Standards are being achieved and controls are adequately implemented into systems. You will be responsible for identifying areas of noncompliance and partnering with stake holders to drive improvement to improve Micron’s quality management systems.


You will be responsible to drive value into Micron through a value-added suite of metrics which will help people identify areas for improvement.  You will drive the data analysis to help identify underlying systemic issues where people can make improvements before an audit finding.


As a manager, you will be expected to provide regular performance feedback to team members, establish goals and development plans, and provide opportunities to expand skills and promote career growth.


Overall, you will lead the audit department to help Micron improve.  Findings are not the focus, but driving improvement in Micron is the goal.


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Monitor and manage metrics to drive improvement in Micron and the Audit team performance
  • Conduct regular data analysis to help identify systemic issues in functional areas
  • Facilitate sharing of audit findings from customer, supplier, registrar, and internal audits so other processes and sites can make improvements proactively
  • Provide Closed Loop Feedback around the performance of Micron's QMS to QMS and Standards teams
  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of the QMS and its processes
  • Ensure compliance to standards
  • Contribute to planning and review of QMS
  • All nonconformance or areas for improvement will be closed by the audit team
  • Communicate with Global Internal and External Customers
  • Consult with department leadership on QMS Standards and initiatives
  • Promote awareness of QMS direction and status through global updates
  • Contribute to the promotion and awareness of customer requirements
  • Provide Technical Leadership and Support
  • Maintain knowledge of QMS standards, methods, and tools
  • Maintain knowledge of Project Management and tools
  • Deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control


Develop Strategic Visions

  • Establish and maintain roadmap per changing conditions
  • Develop required metrics to evaluate performance to roadmap and Micron’s QMS performance
  • Partner with Micron sites/departments to develop vision and implement projects
  • Establish line-of-sight between future and current state


Manage Performance to Plan

  • Provide performance indices
  • Strong metric management skills
  • Manage and resolve issues (obstacles)
  • Escalate issues as appropriate


Manage Staff, Workload, Budget, and Priorities

  • Develop and empower employees
  • Establish IPP Performance and Development goals
  • Conduct Performance Appraisals
  • Provide recognition and drive accountability
  • Resolve conflicts, Promote teamwork
  • Recruit, interview and select personnel


Education Required

  • Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience


Experience Desired

  • 5+ years of experience in Management/Leadership
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Auditing
