As a Program Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for working with leadership teams and program peers to manage the portfolio of TPCE projects and business processes which align to strategic site and corporate goals.
You will be responsible for managing programs/processes and mentoring project managers to achieve specific business goals and objectives while ensuring balance in allocation of resources. You will develop and track metrics to predict results and outcomes critical to success of the program. Additional responsibilities include analysis of program progress using tools including (but not limited to): root cause analysis, risk assessment, resources consumption, interdependencies and gaps.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks
Manage Program Benefits 

  • Identify and establish benefits realization plan and develop benefits metrics and monitoring 
  • Continually assess benefit metrics and realization, and communicate progress to stakeholders 
  • Balance resource allocation with benefits throughout program cycle 

           
Manage Program Teams and Stakeholders 

  • Identify Stakeholders and manage expectations 
  • Collect and document stakeholder requirements 
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts 
  • Communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders 
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, supervise, and provide recognition for program 
  • Maintain program support through interaction with senior leaders 
  • Promote Program Management value and business practices to the organization 

           
Oversee Program Governance 
     •  Assist in the development of program scope definition and approval 
     •  Assist in setting metrics and targets 
     •  Assist in setting program definition and approval 
     •  Manage program change management 
           
Initiate and Plan Programs 

  • Help define scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders 
  • Help define alignment of programs to company strategic objectives 
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve program goals 
  • Plan and schedule program timelines and milestones using appropriate tools 
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel 
  • Create roadmaps for future projects with internal customers and stakeholders 
  • Ensure alignment of program management business processes and training with area PMO standards 

           
Execute, Monitor, Control and Close Programs 

  • Identify and manage program dependencies 
  • Track program milestones and deliverables 
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations 
  • Control program scope 
  • Identify potential crises, and develop and execute resolution plans 
  • Facilitate transition of system and business processes from project close to long term sustainment 

 

Facilitate and Manage Portfolio Meeting and Activities 

  • Facilitate regular meetings and communicate with members to stimulate discussion among members. Use appropriate tools to make business decisions. 
  • Invite appropriate stakeholders to stimulate discussion when business needs exist. 
  • Perform a leadership role to develop and maintain mission and visions of QBR activities. 

 
Education
Required
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience 

  • Engineering
  • Project Management 
  • Business Administration/Management

 

Desired
Certificate 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP Certification)          

          
Experience
Required:
 3 year’s experience in any of the following: 

  • Engineering      
  • Project Management      

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and present to small and large groups.     
  • Strong project management skills.     
  • Decision making skills using data analysis techniques.     
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with peers and managers.     
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.     
  • Experience with global networking. (Examples: Program Advisory Council (PAC), Business Alignment Team (BAT), Copy Smart Team (CST), etc.)     
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. If not certified, achieve certification within 12 -18 months of hire date.
