Fab10 Planning Strategic Capital/Reuse Engineer

You will be part of F10 Strategic Capital and Reuse planning team. As a Capital Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the capital budgeting and funding data and process, liaise with various stakeholders and ensure a timely and effective capital request plan to the site leadership team for approval to meet the business plan. As a Reuse Engineer, you will be responsible to coordinate site asset Reuse business process and identification of reuse opportunities within or external to Micron for potential capital savings. You will need to drive and lead improvements through data and metrics, benchmarking, identify top opportunities and gaps. You will need to partner with multi functional areas such as the following (but not limited to): Production, Engineering, Integration, Quality, Fab and Central planning team within the Micron network in order to execute an optimal capital plan, support management directions, analyze alternatives to purchasing, and methods for successful allocation and cost reduction with little or no impact to manufacturing plans. You need to have good communication and presentation skills, and able to provide clear and qualitative data analysis for the higher management to support decision making. You should possess detailed understanding on capital expenditures, identifying opportunities for capital optimization and providing benchmarking.

 

Responsibilities
Capital Planning
 

  • Facilitate and lead the site’s monthly capital review budget and funding process for submission to OCT (Operation Central Team).
  • Collaborate and liase with Engineering, Capacity IE, Purchasing and OCT to prepare justifications to support  the capital budgeting and funding requests
  • Maintain MICAP capital and cashflow data integrity, accuracy and completeness, trigger for escalation and resolution.
  • Provide all capital-related spending (equipment, tool install, base build) spending for the 3 year business planning horizon by month in support of the quarterly business planning process. A key requirement of the semi-annual plan is to reconcile changes from the preceding plan with the accompanying business drivers.
     

Equipment Reuse
 

  • Coordinator of Site Reuse Business Process responsible to define, sustain and improve the processes to identify the excess assets within the site and facilitate the best possible ways to dispose them.
  • Identification of reuse opportunities within Micron or from external source for potential capital savings and guide site team members throughout the life cycle of equipment reuse.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis on reusing excess tools against purchasing new tools for right business decision making.
  • Facilitate the transfer of capital assets between to and from Fab10. Collaborate with logistics and export teams to ensure planned, timely and low cost/optimized physical transfers.

 

Requirements:
 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • Strong ability to perform data analysis and problem solving.
  • Strong data validation skills and reporting skills
  • Ability to map relevant conclusions to support decisions making.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional customer focus.
  • Knowledge and practical application of statistics, data analysis and problem solving.
  • An understanding of Manufacturing Science (inventory management, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, TPM, etc…)
