As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the Global Supply Chain team, you are part of an Agile team focused on driving reporting and analytic solutions in the automation of a digital supply chain.   In this role,  

you will responsible for delivering data reporting solutions and visualizations that are consumed by a wide audience including business leaders, business analysts & planners, suppliers and customers.     You will be part of a global team to administer and maintain health of the reporting and analytic solutions in the digital supply chain.   You will provide the primary reporting support for our Asia Pacific site teams.

 

As a team, we design and create business intelligence solutions that answer key business questions.  We strive to deliver value to the organization through the visibility of data through metrics, dashboards, analytics and reporting.   We endeavor to deliver high quality in data, support and availability of our information assets. 

 

The ideal candidate will have solid verbal and written communication skills and aptitude to develop business and technical acumen.   Strong SQL development skills and reporting development skills are a requirement of this position.  The engineer will be part of an agile development team focused on delivering business value to diverse requests of varying complexity.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Solution Delivery

  • Deliver solutions written in Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence tools, SAP Hana/Business Objects and/or Tableau.
  • Collaborate with BI Analyst and business team members to ensure that the solution is meeting the business needs. 
  • Analyze and define technical requirements of the development backlog leveraging user story (requirements) and acceptance criteria.
  • Complete unit testing, participate in code review, document solution delivery and coordinate deployment. 
  • Provide hands on demonstration of the solution and provide technical support to business team members during testing and deployment phase.
  • Explore new technologies and system capabilities to improve business value, data quality and performance.
  • Serve as an internal consultant within Global Supply Chain teams and partner with organizations on Global Supply Chain Analytic reporting capabilities and best practices.
  • Work within cross-functional teams (Operations areas, Global Supply Chain Engineers, IT) to drive successful deployments.

     

    Operations Management

  • Resolve operational issues and ensure stability of the reporting environment for our Asia Pacific business users.
  • Maintain the health of the analytic server sites by identifying and removing expired reports and extracts from the server per policy of the organization.
  • Monitor extracts and overall health of long-running reports and extracts that require performance tuning or action by original developer for sustainability.
  • Manage permissions to Reporting Services, Tableau, SharePoint, Business Objects and SQL Server Database objects per department and company policy.
  • Act as liaison to IT and business on changes, upgrades and issues related to the SharePoint site. 
  • Communicate changes, upgrades and other impacts of SharePoint availability to the organization.

     

    Job Requirements

    Qualified candidates will have:

     

  • Experience in database development (T-SQL, PLSQL, and/or SQL scripts)
  • Development experience within the past year with one or more data visualization/reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects, Hana Analytics, Microsoft Reporting Services, Hana Analytics)
  • Experience in Microsoft BI development in Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS) or Reporting Services (SSRS) (preferred but not required).
  • A strong systems background, good oral and written communication, problem solving, teamwork and consensus building skills.
  • Experience with Agile project management.
  • Familiarity with SAP (preferred but not required).
  • Self-motivation with the ability to consistently achieve desired results.
