Job Description

As a Global Procurement Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the vision and management of a Procurement Functional Area to enable superior service delivery, a high performing team, and the development of current and future Micron leaders. You will build a category management strategy and coordinate execution of at all Front End (FE) sites.  You will meet functional performance goals and optimize departmental performance by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. 

In this position, you will work closely with the Category leaders to establish and monitor department performance metrics and oversee functional area metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions and work with the Category Director to coordinate contact with global and site- specific suppliers. You will maintain close interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure category-related needs are addressed while fostering a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement.

Other responsibilities include ensuring department compliance to company policies and regulations, as well as departmental procedures. You will also be responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, aligning team and individual goals to business objectives, and driving overall high performance within your team and the department.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Manage Functional Area Service Delivery


                •  Participate in goal setting and deliver overall category savings, compliance, business continuity and supplier management targets

                •  Lead and align strategy with global and site category teams

                •  Participate and support in building comprehensive category management strategies

                •  Interaction with and receive high level input from Global Category Managers and Site Category teams to foster informed, coordinated strategy

                •  Coordinate category- specific projects at sites and track implementation and results

                •  Coordinate and communicate departmental policies and procedures

                •  Be accountable for internal budgets and promote continuous cost reduction and quality improvement

                •  Develop, communicate, and monitor department performance metrics


Lead and Manage regional / site Category Teams 


•             Present strategic plans for the assigned categories and report status

•             Build consensus on assigned category strategic plan and refine (if required)

•             Assist Category Director in building integrated strategic plan


Support building Functional Strategies, Processes, and Policy

                •  Collaborate with global Category Managers and Site/Regional Supplier Managers to coordinate an approach to cross-category vendors

                •  Participate with global Category Managers to set, maintain and monitor a multi-year strategy roadmap based on business needs and supplier landscape

                •  Collaborate with peers to construct global solutions to department and category issues

                •  Align internal strategies and communicate line of sight to corporate strategic objectives

                •  Communicate the corporate business environment, initiatives and department direction


Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions


                •  Ensure customer category requirements met

                •  Collaborate to create and drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing the specific category Procurement

                •  Maintain close interaction with business partners to ensure category-related needs addressed

                •  Identify and understand department service requirements

                •  Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders with effective communication

                •  Communicate strategic sourcing goals, category management plans, initiatives and targets to customers

                •  Coordinate with global Category Managers to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers




Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Business Administration/Management

Master’s Degree or equivalent experience

 • Working with executives, senior leaders and stakeholders across organizational boundaries and geographies
• Translation of business needs them into actionable plans, and resources
• Leading a wide range of global initiatives with global teams
• Development of high performing Global teams
• Customer orientation
• Experience leading a Procurement back-office function Globally and direct materials planning and scheduling organization
• SAP and ARIBA, including the deployment of P2P and Catalog tools


  • 10+ years’ experience in any of the following:
    • International Business
    • Procurement and Supply Chain Management
    • Materials Management
    • SAP/Ariba PO to Pay & E-Catalog Experience
    • SAP MRP




8 years’ experience in any of the following:

  • Purchasing/Procurement
  • Supply Chain

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
