CORPORATE SAFETY PROGRAM MANAGER

The Corporate Safety Program Manager is responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of safety strategies and policies for Micron Technology, Inc operations globally.  The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, education, and overall strategic management of the companies injury free initiatives as well as drive a global safety culture. The Corporate Safety Program Manager will provide technical regulatory guidance/advice to the site, staff, and senior management on safety related matters related to the semiconductor industry. The Corporate Safety Program Manager is responsible for building relationships internally and externally and work with facility and business unit managers to gain business insights as well as drive safety and health improvements. Candidates for this position should have strong communications and program management skills, and passionate about building a benchmark safety culture on a global scale.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Partner with site leadership teams to define strategies, proactively create safety action plans and implements programs to drive an effective injury free and regulatory compliance culture in multiple countries of operations.
  • Analyze trends then develops/ maintains appropriate key performance indicators to help drive company safety and health performance improvements.
  • Representative the company in dealings with regulatory, government and industry agencies in the countries in which we operate.
  • Develop a systematic contractor safety management program to ensure all operations of contractor and vendor partners are performed to the highest safety and health standards
  • Develop processes to sustain risk reduction programs across multiple facilities
  • Provide training on safety and health processes and systems to management and facility teams to align operations to Micron safety and health standards.
  • Perform safety and health management system and regulatory audits to drive continuous improvement across operations.
  • Investigates, analyzes and reviews accidents, near misses incidents to propose corrective and preventative measures at all sites.

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated experience in all areas of safety and health including in depth knowledge building code, semiconductor and other applicable standards.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) recommended
  • Ability to develop global programs and deploy to a multi-cultural audience
  • Strong interpersonal communication
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • Public speaking skills
  • Strong team player skills
  • The ability to read and develop a solid understanding and interpretation of regulations is required
  • The ability to effectively collaborate with different team members from different cultures is required

 

Education:

Minimum of a B.S. degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or other related technical degree in the day-to-day management of environmental and/or safety and health in a semiconductor environment.
