System Engineer (Quality & Safety)

Job Description:

As a System Engineer on Quality and Safety at Micron Technology Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring production of the highest quality products within the specification by establishing key business processes, metrics, references and monitors. You will actively participate in key meetings and projects related to quality and Safety. You will analyze data, verify process conversions, and experiments to mitigate risks. You will also verify failure escapes and effective preventive actions. In term of safety, you will be responsible to work with respective area owners for compliances.


Major Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Define and Drive Improvements around Key Quality Metrics

- Work with appropriate groups to identify or create new key quality metrics

- Identify concerns or issues related to the key quality metrics

- Work with the relevant team to resolve or improve issues or concerns

- Work with relevant groups to establish improvement projects for the key quality metrics


Perform Data Analysis to Drive Quality/Safety Improvements (Human Centric)

- Define data needed and collection methodology to perform analysis

- Perform analysis, summarize and group significant correlations

- Identify project opportunities

- Execute to project plan

- Communicate project status and goals with appropriate contacts

- Evaluate project effectiveness


Provide Support for Customer Audits or Requests.

- Coordinate with relevant groups to ensure Audit Findings are closed on time.

- Inculcate team members with Line readiness for audit at any time


Contribute to a Safe and Compliant Work Environment

- Identify and promptly report hazards

- Ensure area owners follow safety procedures and area work rules (including use of proper PPE, energy isolation, and chemical safety)

- Ensure area owners operate and maintain equipment/tools within manufacturer and company safety guidelines

- Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner



- Master/Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent.

- Excellent time management, good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong interest in working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

- Risk assessment and problem solving skill

- Strong analytical skill, fast learner, independent and highly motivated and work well with given a short lead-time.

- Experience in assy and test process/equipment

- TS16949/IATF or other relevant knowledge will be an advantage
