OCT BE Manufacturing Engineering Senior/Principal Engineer

As an OCT BE ME Factory Network Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for guiding and continuously improving the performance execution of the Back End (BE) Network. This will be achieved by providing Back-end manufacturing experience and expertise. You will deliver Best Known Methods (BKMs) at your sites and to the BE Network. These BKMs will be measurable and you must follow through to success. Other responsibilities include building networks to deliver tactical solutions, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment. Quarter Lock achievement will be one of the primary metrics to assure the success of your role. 
 
Responsibilities and Tasks
 
Guide and Improve the Performance Execution of the BE Network 

  •  Deliver competitive results.
  •  Collaborate with sites Manufacturing(MFG) / Industrial Engineering (IE) / Operation Improvement (OI)  to continually improve line efficiency and increase network output.
  •  Analyze, set the benchmark line performance, and provide line direction to meet the business plan.
  •  Provide feedback to develop manufacturing science concepts that improve line management and inventory dispatching/scheduling.
  •  Identify and address line knowledge gaps through production leadership training.
  •  Drive each sites constraint workstation to achieve continuous improvement. Strive to improve key performance metrics. For Example: Tool utilization; Cycle time; WIP management; Excursion/scrap prevention.
  •  Promote and analyze data through statistical analysis to drive workstation and line efficiencies improvement.
  •  Provide regular Site Production Updates with key items of focus and key initiatives. These updates should include workstation constraint performance and network benchmarking.

 
Deliver Best Known Methods (BKM) at Your Site and to The BE Network 

  •  Take responsibility for consult request from the Sites, and search cases that had been implemented for new BKM sharing
  •  Manage BKM execution by providing immediate feedback on work, discussion, and recommendation.
  •  Provide guidance of project statement and identification areas for improvement.
  •  Help to identify metric to measure the success of the BKM execution.

 
Provide Mentoring and Build Networks to Deliver Tactical Solutions 

  •  Mentor others and be able to clearly articulate complex ideas and issues to a broad audience.
  •  Display a passion for consistent data analysis and presentation approaches that can be shared with Manufacturing(MFG) / Industrial Engineering / Operation Improvement departments.
  •  Support or provide training for the Manufacturing Science/Constraint optimization skillset development of the Network MFG Team.
  •  Collaborate with all Factory Network Manufacturing Engineers, MFG Managers and key stakeholders to deliver tactical solutions.
  •  Ensure a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment.

 
Education Required

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Engineering

 

Experience Required

3 years’ experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing

 

Qualifications

  •  Must have the ability to manage without authority.
  •  Good understanding of BE processes and Manufacturing Science (Floor scheduling, Line Management, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, TPM, FE reports, etc.)
  •  Excellent analytical and good decision making skills.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and the network.
  •  Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally.
  •  Exceptional customer focus.
  •  Advanced ability in Excel and proficient in using VBA Macros to enhance and automate tasks.
  •  (Desired) Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional and multi-cultural groups within and outside the Fab.
  •  (Desired) Proven ability to continuously improve systems and processes by striving to increase output of the network.
  •  (Desired) Ability to foster strong relationships from cross-functional and multi-cultural groups.
