As MMY’s Planning Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of the Planning and Industry Engineering Teams, and drive for meeting / exceeding Business plan commitment through collaborating with stakeholders in supply chain, Backend Central Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, IT and organizations within the site. You will lead the organization and develop organizational capability of the planning community by establishing good planning systems, train and develop the planning team to be skilled in industrial engineering and planning. As a people leader, you will need to identify talent, coach and mentor these talents to contribute and make a difference to Micron. You will recognize and reward your team as you assign them challenging goals and maximize their capability. You will deliver competitive results by removing barriers, coaching and mentoring team members.

As one of the Senior Leaders, you will also be responsible to drive the Site’s mission and enable it to be the benchmark (based on the Site’s mission). And support the site director to implement the strategy of Micron within the site.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work with Site Leadership Team as well Backend central team to define and drive business goals to meet Micron objectives and reinforce positive culture and system throughout the organization.
  • Establish a clear and effective Planning and IE organization to make sure a right structure and strong leaders in place.
  • Ensure clear direction, performance goals, job profiles and expectation are established for all planning team members.
  • Identify, manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.
  • Support Site Director to Develop Site long term strategy to maximize site capability and capacity to enable company strategy.
  • Lead and manage the Manufacturing Supply Response plan with right capital requirement, sufficient capacity, clear constrain station management and HC plan
  • Lead and drive output max together with manufacturing, engineering and other site related department to make sure all customer orders are supported with no “Origin Promise Date” miss.
  • Manage new tool purchases, coordinate with Manufacturing /Engineering on installations, and qualifications to meet the business plan.
  • Lead and manage cycle time improvement CIPs and Tool utilization improvement.
  • Coordinate with New Product Introduction team on new process/product qualification to meet the business plan.
  • Provide a work environment that empowers employees to creatively improve their work efficiency, instills a sense of ownership in Micron, and support a team effort.
  • Provide direct leadership on critical deliverables and escalated performance items to ensure barriers are removed and correct resources are applied. Ensure timely and transparent communication with business partners if performance issues will risk business objectives.
  • Mentor the planning and IE team, identify and develop the pipeline of potential successors.
  • Provide leadership on safety management and encourage/create a culture of safety.

 

Requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or IE related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated success in a senior manager position preferably with experience in Industrial Engineering or Planning manager roles.
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, TPM, etc.).
  • Good leadership skills in mentoring, building teams, managing the performance of teams and people development.
  • Excellent analytical and good decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional groups within and outside the department.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and lead team to meet challenging deadlines and goals.
  • Prefer Semiconductor industry related experience.
