Job Description:
As Operations Improvement (OI) Manager, you will be responsible for driving all customers’ requirement in manufacturing efficiency projects to optimize cycle time, capital efficiency, and factory dispatching/scheduling & automation. In this role, you will also engage with internal and external teams to develop planning and scheduling models to improve production metrics for Manufacturing areas. You will also be developing and maintaining team’s training and documentation profiles as well as improving Site dispatching/scheduling and automation change management/system integration processes.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, drive, and sustain OI Systems Conversion Projects. Delivering results by encouraging teamwork and setting priorities.
  2. Recruit, develop, and establish a sustainable OI organization within Site. Build trust-based relationships within the team and across organizations. Coaching and mentoring team members to reach their goals and potential.
  3. Balancing workload across the different team members to ensure each engineer is working on value added activities in line with site and company goals
  4. Support daily area dispatching/scheduling, automation, and reporting alignment activities. Ensure balance between area optimization and line balance (for current/future bottleneck capacity expansion).
  5. Ensure that Site Metrics and Reports deliver accurate information for decision making. Maintain, audit and improve MFG Dashboard to keep IT data accurate for Site.
  6. Create, document and support business processes for changes related to line/area optimization
  7. Apply Industrial Engineering concepts to capacity analysis, line management, scheduling and production planning.
  8. Develop, maintain, and improve dispatching/scheduling and business rules to continuously improve the Back End Manufacturing Efficiency.
  9. Initiate proactive and continuous improvement projects in areas across the Back End including manufacturing methods and processes, quality, software systems, layout, tool design and capability, cycle time, key tool metrics (availability, utilization, and performance efficiency), maintenance and routine tasks, and other manufacturing support operation.
  10. Participate in the creation, maintenance, improvement, and training of: software, reports, and metrics used by Back End Production and Engineering.
  11. Benchmark Back End performance against Micron and other world class Back End.
  12. Design and coordinate projects with internal and external team.
  13. Communicate with other Back End and departments to ensure that BKMs are shared and that the OI group has a strong partnership with other teams.
  14. Provide periodic department updates to review current status and future goals and objectives.

 

Requirements:

Communication:

  • Communicating customer expectations to the organization.
  • Communicating with other Sites and departments to ensure that BKMs are shared and that the OI group has a strong partnership with other teams.

Program Management:

  • Driving a culture of project management within the department.
  • Prioritizing & approving projects to align with Site's areas of focus.
  • Managing, measuring and monitoring projects to ensure deliverables and time frames are met.
  • Providing project resources and remove barriers.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Science, Engineering
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Assembly manufacturing role in a semiconductor industry
  3. In depth technical understanding, especially of Industrial Engineering and scheduling/automation concepts. Good knowledge in inventory management, simulation, optimization, modeling, forecasting, automation, statistics, data mining, and database management.
  4. Ability to lead and participate in cross-area teams, with proven ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  5. Demonstrate strong project management, software development methodology, & organizational skills.
  6. Intermediate to advance understanding of Supply Chain Master Data Management principles and practices.
  7. Knowledge of data structures of software systems such as ERP systems and manufacturing planning and execution system
  8. Familiar with Micron Back End Applications: CSM, MAM, MAM Recipe, ETI, ToolView, MTSPC, FDC, DataNav, LPI, MICAP, etc.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office and applications including SharePoint, ASP.NET, C#, VB/VBA, RTD, AutoMod, AutoSched AP, Java Script, Angular, Perl, HTML, CSS, SQL, NoSQL (Mongo DB, Hadoop, Cassandra), R, JMP, Machine/Statistical Learning, etc.
