Sr. Manager, Partner/Alliance Management

As a Sr. Manager Partner/Alliance Management in the Storage Business Unit (SBU) at Micron Technology, you will be charged with defining and executing to Micron's storage vision. You will be expected to work with external partners and internally with engineering, product management, marketing, and sales teams to define leading storage solutions, and to build out an ecosystem that positions Micron to provide a differentiated value proposition for our customers.  The role will be based in Milpitas, California and have responsibility for managing partner relationships primarily in the Asia Pacific region.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will center on managing relationships with our software, technology, and hardware partners with the goal of increasing the revenue and margin for Micron solid state drives, increasing Micron’s brand, identifying partner opportunities to make our products better, defining a compelling ecosystem, and leveraging partner go to market engines. You will be the voice of the partner, working with them to analyze and anticipate needs, establish requirements, and identify focus areas etc. while working with Micron product, marketing, and sales teams to assess business opportunities. You will manage joint programs involving partner and Micron teams, ensuring a seamless execution that is driven by the desire to deliver solutions that deliver value to our end customers.

You must have extensive technical domain expertise, with hands on experience in storage software and technology combined with strong business acumen, to provide deep analysis of new technologies and architectures while simultaneously judging the market potential of those emerging solutions. You will also be expected to have a proven track record of delivering on complex and cross-functional product strategies, along with extensive customer-facing experience.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 


Competitive Landscape 

  • Work with internal and external teams to articulate the partner competitive landscape by segment. Assess partner strengths and weaknesses to identify and leverage partners that provide the largest opportunity for Micron.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the partner market by segment as well as new and emerging markets in terms of fiscal aspects and industry analyst vision, to identify areas for Micron to be disruptive.
  • Understand and maintain internal high-level roadmaps and technology futures for key partners to frame a compelling ecosystem for Micron products.
  • Create a business plan by performing an objective analysis of a potential partner opportunity to provide a basis for investment.
  • Subject matter expert for assigned partners and their markets/segments.


Partner Planning

  • Create strategies and determine which partners best align with maximum revenue and margin for Micron based on available resources.
  • Link and facilitate partner key stakeholders’ relationships with Marketing to develop compelling reference architectures, product briefs, and other marketing collateral to deliver a compelling ROI for Micron.
  • Facilitate strong relationships with key partners and Micron product management to build better solutions.
  • Understand the Micron solid state drive roadmap comprehensively and ensure alignment with product management to optimize roadmap execution when working with partners.
  • Develop aligned, compelling message with partners and work with outbound marketing to develop co-marketed collateral.




  • Lead initiatives to build out a solid partner ecosystem with clearly understood and achievable fiscal benefit to Micron.
  • Exhibit thought leadership by identifying how to leverage the ecosystem near term as well as longer term to find opportunities that provide significant and compelling benefit over time especially opportunities for Micron to be disruptive
  • Regularly actively communicate across the organization to ensure understanding and alignment for all identified focus partner initiatives – to maximize internal probability of success
  • Provide partner solution and market expertise for strategy meetings, events, and the like
  • Respond to partner product announcements and social media postings
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partner stakeholders including regular partner interlocks/strategy meetings.
  • Timely negotiation and execution of NDAs/contracts with partners



Required:  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study. Masters Degree in Business Administration/Management desired.



8+ years’ experience in Sales, Business Development, Product Marketing, or Product Management focused on Enterprise Storage and Software. Solid State Drive and Storage ecosystem experience preferred.




Combined product development, marketing, and customer experience in Enterprise Storage or Software.

Ability to grasp complex financial, technical, and marketing information to develop product plans and strategies

Strong communication and presentation skills including to senior management

Demonstrated business acumen and critical thinking skills

Experience leading cross-functional teams and working across multiple locations

Strong relationship, leadership, and team building skills

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
