Micron Technology’s Mobile Business Unit (MBU) is focused on specifying and managing the development of leading-edge memory solutions for mobile products.  As a Sr. Director Mobile Architecture for this organization, you will define, drive and guide market-leading solutions in the Mobile space.  This role is based at Micron’s facilities in Milpitas, California, where our employees enjoy careers that allow them to be on the leading edge of the industry.  Come join our Mobile Business Unit as we deliver leading-edge solutions that will change the mobile industry.


You/your team’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Understand the Mobile market and track and understand the technology and technology trends that drive the market.
  • Use the available memory, controller and packaging technologies within Micron and the industry to specify leading edge and innovative mobile solutions for our customers.
  • Engage with Microns internal development teams to specify and influence the direction of our future developments.
  • Oversee the resources responsible for representing Micron at the mobile industries standards committees.
  • Build a small team with deep industry expertise to work directly with customers and partners on leading edge solutions.
  • Manage existing DRAM and Non-volatile advanced development teams within the mobile business unit
  • Assist other groups in evaluating relevant external IP for incorporation in our products.
  • Work with internal firmware teams to build differentiation into existing Micron products.




Successful candidates for this position will have:


  • A minimum of 10-15 years of semiconductor industry experience with emphasis in system design and implementation.
  • Thorough understanding of Computer and Memory subsystem architecture.
  • Thorough understanding of mobile use cases and their demands on the SOC and memory subsystems.
  • Good understanding of the ASIC SoC design flows and the FW development process
  • Demonstrated experience in working on low-power, mobile solutions
  • Exceptional teamwork and leadership skills, the ability to pull together cross-functional teams to analyze issues and solve domain-spanning problems, making objective decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate results, review with peers and influence technical direction.
  • Experience DRAM and with advanced memory systems.




  • Smartphone or tablet systems design
  • Memory subsystem design experience
  • Firmware development experience




  •  BS or MS (MS preferred) in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required.
