Responsibilities and Tasks:


In this role you will be responsible for working with system, hardware and other firmware architects to define, design and help lead the implementation of our firmware stack for new Micron developed SSD controllers.  These designs will leverage the latest high efficiency NAND flash and other future solid state memory and be optimized for the mobile, client and data-center marketplaces in terms of power, reliability, cost and performance. 


You will also have the opportunity to work with, and as part of, other teams designing controller architectures for other business segments from mobile to enterprise and to manage other forms of volatile and non-volatile memory.


This is a key role in advancing our overall business with wide ranging impact across our organization and company.



Skills should include:


  • Documenting and communicating complex firmware architectures.
  • Design methodologies associated with embedded systems.
  • Experience of the storage industry, in SSD, HDD, storage systems, or a related technology.
  • Experience in storage interfaces including one or more of the following: PCIe/NVMe, AHCI, SATA, SAS, UFS, eMMC
  • Modeling and analysis of performance, power and resources within embedded systems.
  • Experience with advanced NAND flash or other non-volatile storage.
  • In depth experience with software and firmware development methodologies
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with management of firmware or software efforts
  • Knowledge of current state of the art development tools and their real-world application
  • Experience in communicating and educating fellow firmware developers, firmware management, product team leaders, and external customers





    •            MSEE/MSCS or BSEE/BSCS +5 or equivalent required
