As a Solid State Drive (SSD) FW Simulation Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will develop simulation models for FW components for an SSD. You are expected to work closely with FW developers, system architects, firmware architects, firmware test architects, system hardware design engineers, product engineers, memory architecture engineers to develop the simulation models. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Developing FW simulation models of new advanced components. Working with internal engineering teams in defining and developing FW components.

Work with project teams to isolate , characterize , and resolve issues.

These activities will entail choosing the appropriate simulation tools/environment; constructing or modifying component models. Source code development, review and maintenance in C/C++. Unit and system level test and verification using C, C++ , Python.


A successful candidate for this position will have the following: 

  • Knowledge of design and implementation of multitasking, event driven SW/FW models
  • Must have C/C++ experience; Python experience is a plus
  • Linux experience
  • Experience with storage interfaces ( SATA , SAS , NVME ) is a plus.
  • Jenkins experience is a plus.
  • Ability to create software models based on device data sheets , and/or standards specifications.
  • Firmware/software development environments including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and tool chains.
  • Developing unit tests for code quality validation
  • Understanding of data manipulation and memory-management algorithms in NAND flash memories is a plus
  • Ability to quickly react and adapt to changes based on modeling results
  • Exposure to SW development practices
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of multitasking, event driven firmware using C
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
  • Ability to be highly organized and self-motivated
  • Must be a strong individual contributor as well as a team player

Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in electrical engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or closely related field  (must be from accredited college or university);
