As a Chief of Staff at Micron Technology, Inc., you will oversee and support the administrative and operational affairs of the SVP, NON-VOLATILE ENGINEERING.  Act as project manager on specific far-reaching initiatives. Advise the SVP on policy, procedural and operational issues. Provide direct support to SVP on a variety of initiatives.  Formulate, recommend, and review policies and procedures within the organization. Counsel department executives and Sr. Staff by providing direction and support on department-wide activities, initiatives, and issues.  Assess organizational effectiveness standards to identify opportunities for process improvements and best practice adoption across the department. In conjunction with the management team, identify opportunities to shift administrative processes and change workflows to maximize efficiencies.

 

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Coordination of key meetings (Weekly Staff, Semiannual Department Meetings, Site visits, Strategy Summits, etc.)
    • Slide content
    • Ensure leaders are prepared for meetings
    • Attendees
    • Attend meetings, capture major take-aways, and ensure staff follows through on objectives
  • Partner with HR on Department-level communications
  • Expense budgets: Work with finance on the reporting and analysis of the budgets, monthly. Look for anomalies in the actuals, and determine the cause and fix. Work with finance and cost center managers on the quarterly budget process. Be the main contact for any questions regarding the budget. Know how to run budget reports in Cognos.
  • Capital budget: Work with finance and the cost center managers on the capital budget and process. Work with other COS on this effort.
  • Headcount: Work with HR and Finance on tracking headcount, where the organization stands with respect to the headcount cap, hired not started, open requisitions, hiring plans, etc.
  • Expats: Track who is going where for how long, when and why
  • Capture and manage organizational level metrics
  • Participate in overall strategy discussions and facilitate business execution as requested
  • Organizational Efficiency
    • Act as a point of contact between leadership and other staff to ensure projects are executed correctly and on time
    • Facilitate staff discussions and document standard policies and procedures for executing work
    • Examine existing processes, evaluate them within the context of organizational goals and propose changes or enhancements to help achieve goals.
  • Facilitate connection of leaders across the organization to create consistency of approach, support and interaction across the business
  • Work collaboratively with other organizational COS resources
  • Lead and manage various projects as identified by the SVP
  • Be the “go-to” for anything else that doesn’t fit in the “normal” channels

 

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of experience.
