The WW Social Media Manager is an exceptionally creative thinker who will optimize and implement the social media strategy for the Crucial and Ballistix brands in order to maintain highly engaging social conversations with our customers and key influencers. Social networking is to be used as a communication vehicle for marketing to new customers, providing a positive customer experience for current customers, and simultaneously cultivating a healthily engaged community across an ever-growing number of social platforms. This position is designed to ensure message consistency across all social networks, monitor and guard brand perception and reputation, coordinate efficient use of resources, act upon relevant social discussions, and enforce the social media policy.


Reporting to the Director of Brand and Communications, you will:


  • Drive the social media strategy and ensure its adoption across core regions, including US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, and Italy
  • Grow both the size and engagement level of our existing social media community, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Increase our social universe presence with a select list of additional networks, including Instagram, Twitch, and Reddit
  • Define success by establishing and reporting out on clear goals and objectives for all social media platforms
  • Audit, manage and support all social media activities across Crucial and Ballistix brands, teams, and regions and provide recommendations for improved engagement
  • Manage an advertising strategy for the various pages and regions, measuring success of boosted posts and always-on ads as the spend progresses.
  • Create eye-catching social posts (memes, images, gifs, videos, ads) that cover a mix of geek humor, IT knowledge, tech tips, industry news, system builds, gaming events, eSports news, and gaming trends
  • Work closely with content marketing group to leverage videos and visual imagery for social media purposes
  • Drive content ideation by working with various groups, listening to social conversations, and reviewing engagement metrics
  • Create and implement a calendar of regular giveaways suitable to our audiences and to our various regions
  • Post regularly to English platforms and engage with the community in a personal and authentic manner
  • Respond to English questions, posts, and direct messages in a timely manner
  • Connect with key influencers (gamers, system modders, local LAN owners , other hardware manufacturers) to form partnerships that leverage cross-promotional marketing initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional social media meetings with all involved stakeholders, manage metrics and results, and ensure social pages are fully optimized to meet business objectives
  • Leverage Hootsuite to draft and provide monthly reports on all social media activities and successes, including reach and engagement metrics
  • Serve as the resident social media expert, keeping up with the many relevant tools and platforms globally
  • Act as a public-facing representative of our brands and products
  • Create and execute regular social media training for team members as needed
  • Identify and deal appropriately with our various current "rogue" social media presences
  • Draft and enforce the social media policy for team members
  • Liaise with Micron’s social media efforts as appropriate
  • Be flexible in order to accommodate global time zones and take advantage of any trending topics



  • An understanding of online "geek" culture, especially as it relates to computers and video games
  • 5+ years’ experience in developing and managing social media marketing programs
  •  Outstanding ability to tell stories that engage, inform, and influence behavior
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong understanding of content marketing, SEO, and the role of public relations
  • Strong understanding of social media advertising practices
  • Attention to detail, organized, self-motivated, and able to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage a team of social media managers dispersed across the world
  • Ability to work with stakeholders across different departments, regions, and job roles
  • Knowledge of PC hardware required
  • Understanding of Adobe design and video tools is a plus
  • BA/BS in public relations, communications, marketing, or English
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to events when required
