As a PVD/IMP/RTP (Physical Vapor Deposition, Ion Implantation, Rapid Thermal Processing) Process Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting PVD/Implant/RTP equipment and process modules.   In this position, you will troubleshoot yield issues related to assigned modules, as well as develop long-term yield improvement plans, utilization improvement plans, and process improvement plans for assigned modules. You can expect to set up and maintain all critical SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts for assigned modules. You will also provide Pareto analysis of major sources of variation in process and develop plans for reducing this variation.


 Additionally, you will create, implement, analyze, and summarize special work requests (SWRs) and project data for assigned modules. You must also create and implement engineering change notices (ECNs) and assure that ECNs are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel. Your responsibilities will include developing plans to reduce scrap and rework for assigned modules, working with trainers to maintain process specification accuracy and readability on a consistent basis, and maintaining constant communication with on-shift engineers and technicians regarding any process or equipment issues that might arise.



Successful candidates for this position will have:


•          A minimum of one year of Fab experience.

•          A strong knowledge of traveler/process flow.

•          PC skills in MS Excel, Word, Project, and JMP (preferred).

•          Good organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to prioritize issues and tasks.

•          A high level of self-motivation.

•          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•          The willingness to work swing shifts and weekends as needed.

•          The ability to work well in groups and in one-on-one situations.

•          A working knowledge of Fab processes.

•          Good analytical skills.

•          The ability to design valid tests, Special Work Requests, and design of experiments (DOE's).

•          A basic understanding of probe, parametrics, and device theory.


BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent semiconductor industry experience is preferred; however, other engineering or science related disciplines may be considered.
