As a Manufacturing Industrial Engineering lead the following are your  responsibilities, but not limited to :



  • Establish a “Vision” for the group that aligns with corporate and site objectives; Communicate group vision to management, eventual reports and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for area MIEs to work together in site-wide projects.
  • Maintain a close, working relationship with ME Managers.
  • Identify opportunities for cohesion between Planning, SIC, and IE teams
  • Promote team building and foster a team culture.
  • Support the work of MIE team members and enable team successes.
  • Communicate and enforce Micron, MTV and department policies.
  • Lead by example by being proactive, punctual, respectful, and by communicating openly.
  • Create a positive environment by listening to people, respecting personal values, and avoiding favoritism.
  • Recognize and reward team members both privately and publicly for their successes.
  • Provide regular updates to team, department, and management on current status of group, projects and issues. Extend communications to other areas and sites where appropriate.
  • Exemplify the Micron behaviors, site values and leadership competencies.



  • Create goal setting and development plans for your team members.
  • Develop and administer training plans.
  • Meet one on one regularly with direct reports to review team member performance, provide feedback and clarify expectations.
  • Consistently manage underperformance and conflict situations.
  • Provide detailed performance evaluations within department timeframes and guidelines.
  • Uphold the group standards by holding the group and individuals accountable for decisions and performance.
  • Help employees understand how their work relates to short and long term corporate, site, and/or area goals (Line of Sight).
  • Delegate improvement projects for Fab by evenly distributing ownership amongst ME team members.
  • Create consistency and structure within the group, align expectations and maintain a common OJT approach for all new MIE’s.
  • Increase strategic function and reduce day to day tactical tasks.
  • Recognize and manage the skills of each individual within the team.



  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify key indicators relevant to Fab efficiency.
  • Develop reporting and analysis tools to aid in Fab efficiency analysis
  • Present data to appropriate managers and teams.
  • Work with Planning team on standards for modeling and business processes.
  • Benchmark metrics and procedures between production areas.
  • Design and/or enhance models as needed in order to provide the right accuracy or functionality.
  • Assist in modeling tool capacity and cycle time using static and dynamic models.


  • Apply advanced statistical analytics to determine Root Cause Analysis and make decisions
  • Understand Micron data structure and be able to mine data effectively.
  • Make decisions and recommendations to customer groups.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize cycle time and maximize output



  • Coach the MIE team to develop skills related to industrial engineering principles and their application at Micron.
  • Promote external engagement opportunities, such as outside training resources (e.g. industry conferences, etc.).
  • Utilize Strong IE background in technical development of MIEs.



  • Gather project requirements, define scope, and prioritize IE projects (Fab-wide vs. area-wide).
  • Facilitate discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Provide update on progress and identify potential roadblocks.



Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations Management or relevant engineering degree preferred.  Minimum of 3 years applicable experience in production operations, planning or supply chain management.   Proven leadership background internal or external to Micron.
