FEMQA Engineer Job Description

As a FEMQA Engineer in Micron Fab 6, you will be responsible to execute Micron’s quality mission by leading and inspiring world-class quality systems and services to deliver industry-leading DRAM products.  You will collaborate daily with Yield, Process, Product, PQA, and Integration engineers to solve complex quality problems, and ensure the highest quality of product sold to Micron’s customers.

 

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelors or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, or similar technical field
  • At least 2 years experience in a Yield, Process Integration, or Quality engineering role.  Semiconductor industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication in English, both verbally and written
  • Experience analyzing various types of manufacturing data, probe data, test data, and parametric data
  • Intermediate PC skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Working experience with JMP or similar statistical analysis software
  • Proven ability to work effectively in both an independent role and in team environments
  • Knowledge of electrical and physical failure analysis of semiconductors
  • Knowledge of probe/param tests and analysis
  • Knowledge of semiconductor memory products and reliability testing
  • Excellent data analysis, problem solving, and decision making skills

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and react to wafer quality indicators and quality events highlighted by YE, RDA or Fab engineering
  • Work closely with fab partners to identify, contain non-conforming wafers (unplanned deviations) and assess risk to outgoing quality
  • Own and drive compliance to Micron’s non-conforming material business process standards
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional MRB (Material Review Board) to conduct risk assessment, gather data, and decide disposition of non-conforming material
  • Partner with fab to drive compliance to customer quality indicators like SPC, WLR, Inline spec limits, and Electrical spec limits
  • Partner with fab to drive conversion plans for process changes, ensure compliance to process change standards, assess risk to outgoing quality, ensure right data collection and disposition material appropriately
  • Lead projects to deploy and improve Quality-related software systems and business processes
  • Partner with quality engineers at other Micron fabs to share best-known-methods and drive cross-fab alignment in QA business processes and methods
  • Own and drive validation of Root cause, CA/PA and Manufacturing improvements for customer returns.
