Diffusion Equipment Engineer

As a Diffusion Equipment Owner at Micron Technology Virginia, you will be overseeing 300mm Diffusion equipment as an individual contributor and a team leader addressing equipment related issues and safety, leading continuous improvement efforts and managing equipment installs, upgrades and de-installs. You will be required to optimize maintenance procedures and schedules, innovate for predictive maintenance, set up control methodologies using alarms, FDC, SPC, and others, as well as driving preventive actions to reduce and eliminate quality, yield or unscheduled down time risks. You will work closely with process owner counterpart(s), equipment owner peers, shift leads and shift technicians, vendors, facilities, fab support, procurement as well as leverage and contribute to global inter-fab knowledge sharing and support teams.


Successful candidates need to have:

  • Equipment knowledge in TEL and/or HiKE furnaces.
  • Key values: People focus, tenacity, innovation, collaboration, customer focus.
  • Ability to drive and achieve workstation goals for production, availability, unscheduled down time, cost, yield, quality and cycle time. Able to utilize tools like pareto, categorization, and various statistical methods to provide direction for actions.
  • Ability to drive to root cause using various tools like KT, fishbone, 5 Whys.
  • Project management skills which includes planning, execution, reporting and drive in ensuring critical timelines are met.
  • Good understanding on control systems like FDC, SPC, tool and process alarm limits.
  • High motivation, energy, sense of urgency and strong learning curve.
  • Self-driven, and ability to work independently individually or in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work any shift and provide off office hours coverage as needed.
  • Process knowledge, DRAM, NAND, NOR technology knowledge, and other vendor toolset knowledge will be an added advantage.


Education requirements: Bachelors in Engineering or 3 years of semiconductor experience.
