As a Software Engineer for Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for full-stack software development to support the Manassas, VA manufacturing facility. You must have a demonstrated ability to create both front-end and back-end solutions, work well with customers, perform software testing and be able to learn and work within new technologies quickly and with high proficiency. You will work with customers to create software specifications and will research, design, document, modify, test, and develop software throughout the entire development life cycle. You must have a proven record of developing quality software solutions that create business value while at the same time minimizing negative impact through defects, downtime, or performance degradation.

 

Qualifications

Candidates for this role must have:

  • Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using Object Oriented design
  • Experience with several of the following: C#, VB, .NET, PHP, Python, JavaScript, Perl, Angular2, JQuery, XML, Ajax, CSS, HTML
  • Experience working within both the Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with the Agile methodology and using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and Git
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • A good understanding of relational databases with hands-on experience designing and building databases, developing SQL statements and stored procedures within MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle
  • Experience with manual and automated code testing
  • Experience with CodeIgniter is a strong plus
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible is a strong plus
  • Experience with Docker is a strong plus
  • Experience building data visualizations is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • A proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management skills
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot problems to resolution
  • A willingness to learn new tools and technologies to support Micron’s changing environment
  • The ability to manage several concurrent projects or tasks
  • The ability to work well with customers and listen to their feedback starting from design phase through user acceptance testing and roll-out while balancing their needs with good software decision making
  • The ability to make good decisions that positively impact the quality and timely completion of small and large projects

 

Minimum Education
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:

  • Computer Science
  • Engineering - Computer
  • Related field of study
