MANAGER, HR OPERATIONS (MMY)

Job Description:

As HR Operation Manager, you will coordinate implementation of services, policies, and programs that provide HR support to Muar Site.  As an integral member of the HR management team, you will provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategic & tactical human resource activities and ensures linkage with overall organizational strategies and objectives. You will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of HR programs by understanding the business direction, and by coordinating HR programs with the global and regional HR teams. You will manage the Muar Site Employee Relations and manage any Union relationships. As Talent Acquisition is an integral part of the business, you will work with the Recruiting Team and business leaders in building a talent pipeline and acquire the right talent to Muar Site at the right time. To accomplish this, you will be required to collaborate with Global/Regional HR managers, peers, managers, and vendors from multiple organizations and companies.  The major functional areas directed include:

  • Employee Relations

 

Your job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Govern HR Programs and Policies

  • Collaborate with the functional leads to execute the global expectations for the service within the region
  • Ensure the alignment of services to HR Strategic Objectives
  • Provide leadership regarding the design, development, and implementation of programs and services
  • Collaborate with regional HR leaders to deploy and maintain global programs within the country
  • Ensure quality of service delivery at the Site
  • Identify constraints and process improvement opportunities
  • Identify, create, and recommend solutions in collaboration with HRBP and COE
  • Drive consistency and alignment of global programs in the country

 

Support and Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain knowledge of current trends for your service
  • Provide input and support to the definition of global service metrics
  • Support and enable service metrics to demonstrate/evaluate the effectiveness of the service regionally
  • Ensure accurate reporting and visibility of key services
  • Monitor service level performance
  • Analyze data to identify actions from service metrics
  • Partner with internal and external communities for benchmarking

 

Manage the Country Functional Area

  • Manage the country functional area in collaboration with Singapore/Global functional leaders
  • Deliver service as defined in the service catalog
  • Provide feedback to the functional communities on service catalog items
  • Provide tools and resources to enable service delivery
  • Serve as the country point of accountability for the service delivery of functional area
  • Ensure local relevancy in the functional areas in partnering with Singapore and Global leaders
  • Act as a local subject matter expert in the governance and compliance to the country law

 

Manage Customer and Stakeholder Relationships

  • Identify internal and external customers and stakeholders for your service
  • Set expectations and collaborate with customers and stakeholders to effect the appropriate level of service
  • Collaborate and partner with the CoE to anticipate future state
  • Partner with HRBP to understand business needs
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure program compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

 

Manage and Develop Direct Reports

  • Provide line of sight to strategic objectives
  • Provide communication regarding job expectations and changes
  • Establish goals and conduct performance appraisals
  • Distribute work and learning opportunities
  • Prioritize work, remove barriers, and drive for accountability
  • Collect, review, and provide verbal and written performance feedback to continuously develop your team
  • Manage low performance and conflict
  • Provide recognition
  • Coach and provide career development
  • Empower team members and promote teamwork
  • Manage team staffing and succession

 

Ensure a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment

  • Maintain knowledge of and apply company safety, labor, and ethics policies
  • Communicate requirements to applicable team members and external stakeholders
  • Oversee execution of mandatory training for direct reports
  • Identify and resolve and / or report potential safety, security, and labor issues
  • Promote partnership across HR areas and customer groups

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Minimum of five years of progressive management and/or HR experience
  • The ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations
  • The proven ability to define and implement approaches/solutions to deal with change
  • Successful demonstration of problem solving skills
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in handling Union and Employee Relations
  • Proven track record in Talent Acquisition in the country

 

Education: 

  • BS or BA in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
