As a CMP engineering process owner at Micron, you will maintain the processes you oversee by supporting manufacturing and increasing product throughput. In this position, you will support existing processes, identify process and material improvements, and develop intellectual property. Additionally, you will respond to RDA, PI, YE and production issues, implement solutions, reduce costs, and improve yields. You will be expected to perform process development work on new parts.


Additionally, you will use statistical process controls and data analysis tools to support and monitor the performance of CMP equipment such as the Applied Material Reflexion LK, Ebara FREX-300/300S and NOVA in-situ Metrology. Your responsibilities will also include identifying and resolving defect-related issues from the process itself or from equipment-related problems or hardware. In addition to assisting development engineering with projects and troubleshooting, you will be the first line of defense to resolve area excursions and line-down issues. You can also expect to be a resource for the area engineers and equipment technicians in data mining process and equipment issues. You will implement and communicate procedural changes to the personnel. You will be responsible in participating in Copy Smart Meetings to share and learn from sister sites.



Successful candidates for this position will have:


  • A current job level of Engineer 1 or higher
  • Strong CMP process knowledge; Preferred candidates will have at least one year CMP experience on 300mm AMAT, EBARA and NOVA tools
  • A working knowledge of all Fab processes
  • A basic understanding of Device theory
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control and exposure to statistics
  • A high level of comfort working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Good team work/collaboration skills and self-motivation
  • Quick learner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation and organizational skills
  • Good Data Analysis and Analytical skills




BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent semiconductor industry experience is required; however, other engineering disciplines may be considered.
