As a Customer Support Engineer you will represent Micron as a SSD subject matter expert, working onsite with Tier 1 and OEM customers to manage customer issue escalations, from qualification till end of life,  for multiple products. This requires having a deep understanding of the storage industry, including SSD firmware, hardware, NAND media and multiple storage interface protocols,  You must also be able to develop clear methods which include replication, root cause and corrective actions, using industry standard systems for bus trace analysis and custom debug tools.   You will be expected to utilize strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate internally with Sales, Marketing, Quality, Engineering and with external customers. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications

Direction 1: Customer system support

  • Minimum of 2 years of storage industry experience with OEM/Enterprise customers
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of SATA, SAS and PCIe  interface protocol with associated tools
  • Proficiency Python/Perl/Shell script programming
  • Proficiency in using bus analyzers , oscilloscopes or other HW debugging tools
  • Good customer relationship management skills, demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate by utilizing strong customer service, problem-solving, and customer issue resolution skills
  • Team player, self driven and quick learner for the new SSD technology

Direction 2: SSD product firmware support

  • Minimum of 2 years of embedded system firmware design or application engineer experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of DRAM, NOR, NAND flash component
  • Proficiency C/C++ software programming
  • Understanding of ARM processors and toolsets
  • Good customer relationship management skills, demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate by utilizing strong customer service, problem-solving, and customer issue resolution skills
  • Team player, self driven and quick learner for the new SSD technology

Education

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience

  • Engineering (Computer, Electrical)

Minimum of 2 years experience with OEM laptop or Enterprise storage customers

Storage system engineering or embedded system FW/HW design background preferred
