Job Description

As the Japan Wellness Specialist (GJS: P3~P4), you will be responsible to lead worksite wellness promotions and efforts across the Japan region. You will be responsible for the delivery of corporate wellness initiatives and making them culturally relevant to each Micron Japan location. You will collaborate with the Global Wellness Program Manager and the Global Team Member Programs Manager to help develop and provide workplace programming to promote a healthy, happy work environment. You will create efforts to promote healthy lifestyle habits. You will understand healthcare benefits provided to team members. You will promote internal programs such as the Employee Assistance Program, International SOS and Virgin Pulse wellbeing portal. You will recruit wellness champions at each Japan location. You will interact with team members to understand what they want and need to feel supported within the workplace to enhance their wellbeing. Market trends will be monitored and recommendations brought forth.  You will monitor performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. You will also be responsible to ensure that the Japan HR team has awareness of the corporate initiatives and the work being done at the local level. Other responsibilities include contributing to global wellbeing work and connecting with other partners such as EHS, CSC, ER, facilities, and business partners.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

Coordinate Wellness Programming and Delivery

  • In partnership with the Global Wellness Program Manager execute corporate plan for program delivery
  • Assess the needs at each location and create an approach to ensure program impact.

 

Create a network of support

  • Create wellness champion network.
  • Establish relationships with all levels of the organization and business to ensure awareness of team member needs and current offerings.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and solicit input and feedback.
    Collaborate with counterparts in different regions to share best practices.
  • Participate in the Global Health and Wellness Functional Community.

 

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Programs

  • Identify and understand program requirements
  • Communicate plans to ensure stakeholder expectations are met
  • Develop metrics to measure impact
  • Provide functional area expertise to customers and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate functional services with peer group and internal global partners
  • Initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

 

Experience

  • Ideally minimum of 3 years professional working experience
  • Ideally experience with health promotion, health sciences, human behavior or in place education or event planning or marketing experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-national company or overseas is a strong plus.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in leading teams in defining and solving complex process problems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Business level English & Japanese skills
  • The ability to travel domestically regularly to meet with internal customers, information sharing, and implementation of systems to support the company goals is required

 

Workplace

  • Hiroshima or negotiable, if relocation difficult
  • Frequent travel required
