Job Description

As the ISM Manager at Micron, you will lead the team located at site to ensure the availability of supply and execute to a holistic inventory management strategy and be part of a global team dedicated to this function across all sites. You will be responsible to ensure the ordering and on time delivery of Spares and Materials. This includes expediting and escalation of delivery issues as required to ensure continuity of manufacturing operations. Order adjustments with suppliers due to scheduling or availability changes will also be part of the scope. Ensuring consistent inventory stocking levels through safety stocks, re-order and lead times maintenance, management of inventory write-offs, enable automation of non-MRP driven inventory PO placement and metrics reporting with driven root cause and action.

In this role you will support the development of improvement strategy within the department by participating in assessment of current and future needs, and identify opportunities to leverage changes in processes, systems and product/services.
Other responsibilities include ensuring site’s compliance to company policies and departmental procedures. You will also be responsible to follow corporate business initiatives, align your individual goals to business objectives, and drive towards high performance within your team and the department.

 

Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Supply Fulfillment Execution

  • Manage Delivery Scheduling and Order Release
  • Ensure sufficient materials to support site build plans; schedule correct quantity of material from a vendor for arrival at specified site and date
  • Support pull-in requests that has impact to wafer loading or SOS output, and expedite deliveries
  • Update orders to support site pull-ins, build adds/expedites, or push-outs as required by site build schedule
  • Block materials due to quality issues; release or reorder based upon MRB

    Inventory Management Execution

  • Work with direct and cross-functional teams to implement and execute global inventory strategic direction for FE and BE manufacturing sites
  • Implement recommended actions to achieve targets for global inventory value, turns, safety stock and replenishment points.
  • Implement inventory specific savings levers such as vendor stocking, supplier managed, or consignment programs
  • Execute the implementation of inventory strategies and compliance and participate in the resolution of any constraints or issues

    Interface with Stakeholders, Procurement Partners, and Suppliers on Materials Management Strategies

  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are met
  • Sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

    Ensure a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment

  • Maintain knowledge of and apply company safety, labor and ethics policies
  • Communicate requirements and expectations to leaders and external stakeholders

    Execute Improvement Plan

  • Participate in implementation of improvement strategies and be proactive in recommending solutions to constraints or issues

    Manage Team Member/Group Performance      

  • Develop a high performing team at sites
  • Establish job responsibilities and performance and development goals for direct reports      
  • Collect, review, and provide verbal and written performance feedback to continuously develop your team    
  • Monitor and oversee individual and team performance  
  • Coach, mentor and develop current and future Micron leaders        
  • Provide consultation to ensure conflict resolution   
  • Establish strategies to provide and support recognition  

     

    Education

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in:
  • Business
  • Business Administration/Management
  • Engineering
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Related field of study

     

    Experiences

    8 years experience in any of the following:

  • Purchasing/Procurement. Semiconductors industry experience is preferred.
  • Supply Chain. Semiconductors industry experience is preferred.
  • 1~3-years supervisor experience.

     

    Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Japanese.
  • Experience as change agent that seeks out and advocates new and innovative solutions to meet the business needs
