Security Architect


Job Description

IT Security Architects are responsible for designing IT infrastructure that is hardened and resistant to compromise. The role requires maintaining current knowledge of attack techniques used by adversaries against any of the components being engineered into new or updated systems.


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Govern domain architectural decisions and ensures our integration aligns with the corporate IT roadmap. Coordinate with EA governance.  
  • Ensure all project deliverables are documented from an Architectural perspective utilizing EA. 
  • Guide the technical lead to ensure compliance to project approved architectural principles. 
  • Ensure the proposed solution design aligns to the platform and identifies impact to the current environment. 
  • Consider the long-term supportability of the designed solution. 
  • Review functional specs to ensure no duplication of functionality is developed. 
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the company’s systems and behaviors. 
  • Look for and anticipate better ways to utilize current technologies and improve processes. 
  • Improve security posture and performance. 
  • Find ways to build in better countermeasures that protect or mitigate risk. 
  • Assist in project planning and early implementation phase. 
  • Assist in Operational transition. 




Bachelor Degree, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science


Additional Information:

  • CISSP, EC Council (CEH etc.), and SANS (GIAC, GSEC, etc.) certifications and/or participation in security organizations such as ISSA, MTCIA, ISCA, etc. are a plus. 




  • 5 years of experience in Information Technology with Information Security experience and a proven track record of working with diverse set of customers to solve business problems.
  • 3 years in an Information Technology Architecture role



  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical people.
  • Have an in-depth understanding in at least three of the following areas: Telecommunications, Network, and Internet Security; Operations Security; Risk and Compliance; Access Control Systems and Methodologies; Security Architectures and Models; Security Management Practices, Endpoint Security
  • Have general knowledge of the following areas: Applications and Systems Development; Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery; Cryptography; Law, Investigation, and Ethics; Physical Security
