Job Description:

As the Senior Financial Analyst for Micron’s Sales organization, you will be responsible for financial analysis and support for all aspects of the Sales team.  This will include financial forecasting, analysis of performance to plan, providing data and information, and making recommendations to Sales management. Your role will require you to be an excellent business partner, collaborating with the Worldwide Sales and the multiple Business Units that Sales supports. As a Financial Planning Analyst you will also be performing customer specific requests for ad hoc reporting. You will also be presenting your analysis to the various stakeholders through face to face meetings and phone conferences. 

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Responsible for the Worldwide Sales expense and capital budgeting
  • Assist with Sales Incentive Plan administration and reporting
  • Responsible for GAAP compliance for sales activities such as sales rebate programs, MFC agreements & price masking activities
  • Executive Reporting including: Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Sales LT Offsite, OEM updates, Sales Quarterly Review and various other executive-level meetings.
  • Provide ad hoc support of Finance and Sales initiatives
  • Navigate information system applications (SAP, COGNOS, FRM etc.) to collect actual and forecast data
  • Combine and coordinate multiple sources of data from Finance, and Business UnitsLoad data into financial systems

 

Analyze Financial Data:

  • Validate data and outputs for legitimacy and follow-up for discrepancies
  • Build reports to summarize plan and trend variances
  • Document and distribute explanations for plan and trend variances to management and other internal stakeholders
  • Perform ad hoc analysis based on customer requests

 

Present Data Summaries and Provide Consultation:

  • Present a consolidated forecast per customer requirements
  • Highlight areas of concern and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Identify and explain assumptions and variances to plan

 

Design, Develop, and Maintain Forecast Models:

  • Identify need, scope, and system resources
  • Design and develop system solutions
  • Validate solutions through stakeholder feedback; modify accordingly
  • Implement and communicate model functionality and output
  • Provide training to stakeholders as needed
  • Perform continuous process improvements

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years financial analysis experience
  • Highly proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and Cognos PowerPlay (Tableau a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven financial modeling skills
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with distributed resources and contacts
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and strong focus on accuracy
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

 

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field

 

Experience:

  • Preferred: 1-3 years’ experience in any of the following: 
  • Manufacturing, Finance, Planning/Forecasting  

 

Design, Develop, and Maintain Forecast Models 

  • Identify need, scope, and system resources
  • Design and develop system solutions
  • Validate solutions through stakeholder feedback; modify accordingly
  • Implement and communicate model functionality and output
  • Provide training to stakeholders as needed
