Sr. Director IT, SG&A Solution Delivery

We are changing the way Micron thinks about IT solution development to delivery business value and looking for an experienced Sr. Director of IT Sales, General and Administrative (SG&A) Solution Delivery to help lead the transformation within IT. We want someone with demonstrated ability to attract, hire and retain top talent and a deep technical understanding of all SG&A areas of Micron including Sales, HR, Finance and Legal, who is business-focused, collaborative, and enjoys elegantly solving tough business problems.

 

In this role, you should be able to come up with highly innovative solutions and be obsessive about user experience and API design. You will be working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with the stability of working for a global, established and competitive technology company. Your primary responsibilities will be to grow, develop and lead teams developing SG&A capabilities. You’ll work with business stakeholders to help define solution strategies, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and create best of breed solution experiences that will set the standards for future development. You should be familiar with modern software development methodologies, and able to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.

 

This position will be located in Boise, Idaho.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define, execute, and manage the business solution strategy for Micron’s SG&A areas.
  • Act as the embodiment of the agile mindset; leads teams in iterative product development using lean principles and a quality-first approach to development
  • Act as a change agent, seeking opportunities to challenge the status quo to meet business objectives
  • Bring a strong technical foundation; able to engage the team on architecture and design, and deep-dive on complex solutions, platforms and interface design 
  • Collaborate successfully with business stakeholders and a broad set of internal technical partners to develop product roadmaps and execute flawlessly against a solution backlog
  • Focus on quality as the core of solution delivery
  • Ensure solution releases meet the highest standard in terms of end user experience and performance
  • Partner with peers in other Solution Delivery Areas, Infrastructure, Analytics, Information Security, and across Technologies to identify opportunities for code sharing, common services, joint development, reduced redundancy, etc.
  • Keep up with the latest industry research to ensure we are appropriately leveraging new techniques while aligning with internal standards
  • Demonstrate accountability; leading people with passion, enthusiasm, loyalty and integrity
  • Own and lead HR processes such as employee engagement, performance reviews, talent development, etc.
  • Provide leadership to cross‐functional teams and direction for technical and business partners
  • Actively participate in long- range strategy planning to identify and address complex business issues
  • Drive the app investment strategy and identify opportunities to support business needs with mobile solutions
  • Support the enterprise strategy by providing input on the alignment of mobile apps and platform blueprints
  • Manage end-to-end portfolio delivery in terms of schedule, cost, scope and quality
  • Support and guide the development process and collaborate effectively across multiple cross‐functional teams to skillfully execute on milestones and deliverables
  • Proactively anticipate risks and issues that may arise during the delivery of the portfolio plan and ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are undertaken
  • Actively engage in resourcing processes to ensure organizational agility


 

Qualifications

  • A strong technical leader with 10+ years in software and solution engineering
  • A BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Expertise in agile methodologies and how to instill an agile mindset
  • Proven ability to recruit top talent with technical skills alongside design sensibility and emotional intelligence
  • Passion, energy, personal accountability and a desire to lead others to excellence
  • Proven track record of building high performance, self-managing teams
  • Flawless interpersonal skills and ability to partner with executive leadership to push technology forward
  • Track record in driving strategic change in resourcing, tools and process
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic vision and execution against a strategic plan
