The Micron Technology Engineering Software Development team is looking for an enthusiastic software engineer with the ability to apply the appropriate technology to solve complex software problems.  A successful candidate can demonstrate the use of multiple languages, frameworks and disciplines, and will be encouraged to experiment with new technologies and focus on continual learning of the ongoing evolution of software engineering. The customers for Engineering Software Development team solutions cross the entire breadth of Micron’s engineering disciplines focused on the research and development of memory products.  Software engineers are encouraged to work directly with fab and design engineers focused on the Technology Development organization in the creation, testing and support of solutions that improve efficiency as well to innovate by utilizing the newest technologies.  The Engineering Software Development department works at the leading edge of the semiconductor industry, and the ideal candidate will enjoy working on tough software and data challenges to help Micron meet and surpass best-in-class memory product development.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

As a Software Engineer at Micron you will have the opportunity to work on a broad set of technologies and solutions to enable innovation at Micron.  This position focuses on the following categories of work:

  • Application Development – write code for software applications that help advance Micron’s Research & Development and Process Development operations.
  • DevOps - Design, build and maintain continuous integration, build, and deployment systems.
  • Application Support: work through Micron support mechanisms to support the applications and solutions owned by our team. Successful candidate will be able to analyze, identify and resolve application defects.

 

Qualifications:

Experience Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years experience shipping production quality software
  • Experience in C#, .NET, ASP.Net, Web technologies and RESTful web services

 

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Solid communication, leadership, problem solving skills and experience in working in a global team environment; candidates should have strong organizational and time management skills, technical direction and vision.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Strong customer focus and relationship building skills
  • Experience or familiarity with project management tools and concepts
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Strong problem solving skills in identifying issues and providing recommendations and solutions
  • A proven ability to drive for results and continuous improvement
  • Understand client/server, web, and mobile development methodologies
  • Have an understanding of Agile and DevOps development models and experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Build and Continuous Deployment systems
  • Experience with the following:  C#, Python, Microsoft .NET Framework and MVC or MVVM architecture
  • Experience with UI frameworks for both client (WPF and WinForms preferred) and web (HTML, Angular, Bootstrap, and JQuery preferred) stacks
  • Deep understanding of proper design patterns, principles, and frameworks
  • Solid understanding of multi-threaded/asynchronous application development
  • Experience with writing automated unit tests and component tests

          

Education:

B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required.  Equivalent experience and other related certifications will be considered.
