Position Description:

As a SIG Software Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. you will work as part of the Design Engineering team, and be responsible for developing new systems and solutions for Linux based in-house Automation and Test Equipment as well as the infrastructure that supports the equipment globally.  You work with customers and peers to design systems, fix problems, and collaboratively drive improvements in application functionality and performance. 



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Working directly with customers and software/electrical/control engineering peers to understand and fix issues

Identify and address root cause problems

Collaboratively develop new tools, systems, and functionality

Participate in continuous improvement of software design and implementation

Develop and maintain software through the entire equipment life cycle



  • Knowledge in developing and supporting applications for the Linux Operating System.
  • Knowledge in designing and coding applications using object oriented principles.
  • Knowledge in coding and supporting applications written with C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge in designing relational databases in PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Knowledge in developing SQL commands and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge in designing, implementing, and supporting software systems.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign education in Computer Science or Software Engineering
