SSD Qualification and Reliability Engineering Intern

As a SQRA (System Quality Reliability Assurance) RMA (Returned Material Authorization) Intern at Micron, you will be responsible for assisting with the Failure Analysis of customer returned materials. You will work with the SQRA RMA Engineering team to analyze electrical and physical level failures, identify root cause, and establish a containment plan. In this role, you will work with various engineering groups to evaluate and implement corrective action. You will also be required to administrate the communication of results to functional areas and sustain knowledge of drive capabilities and characteristics. You may also be involved in process improvement projects focused on the Warranty and RMA processes.


•Understand customer complaint as it relates to system products

•Collect relevant failure information from the product

•Perform initial FA including Debug data capture and analysis

•Replicate customer test environment

•Perform Automated Test Equipment (ATE) analysis and interpret results

•Perform detailed fault isolation once failure has been confirmed

•Collaborate with cross-functional resources and support groups

•Summarize findings and submit for Component / Firmware / Module FA

•Summarize analysis at electrical and physical level

•Contact responsible area for root cause corrective action

•Assist in the development of formal FA Reports with findings

•Provide regular updates through interim reports

•Analyze data from various sources for trends and variations

•Record FA results and usage statistics in internal tracking system

•Create and distribute FA Status reports

•Analyze data for clarity and accuracy

•Respond to internal and external requests for ad hoc reports


This internship will be for the Spring/Summer of 2018
