SSD Hardware Competitor Analysis Engineer

As a Competitor Analysis Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for researching, planning, organizing, and conducting technical reverse engineering projects within the areas of semiconductor process technology, circuit design and layout, memory architectures, memory operation and performance, and market competitiveness. In this position you will work with and support the efforts of groups such as Research and Development, Design, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Marketing, and Legal. Projects are typically focused on, but not limited to, products and markets in which Micron directly competes.

 

Typical Activities and Responsibilities include -

  • Conduct Technical Reverse Engineering Projects
  • Perform circuit extraction and circuit analysis
  • Perform process technology evaluation and analysis
  • Collection and analysis of electrical characterization and behavioral data
  • Perform teardown, de-construct, analysis, comparison, and documentation of various semiconductor memories and end-user electronics
  • Publish and communicate results of reverse engineering projects
  • Maintain database and internal website

 

Job Requirements -

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • AAS degree – Electronics or Military equivalent (plus industry experience)
  • Fundamental understanding of semiconductor processing and manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of mainstream memory technologies (DRAM, NAND, NOR, SRAM)
  • Strong foundation in transistor operation and CMOS logic

 

Desired Skills -

  • Experience or training in VLSI
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to thrive in both an individual and team-based work environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
