As an IT SAP Basis Administrator at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for the management of the SAP environment at Micron. The work required in this job is enterprise wide, with a high degree of complexity relative to planning, sizing, installation, configuration, and optimization of all SAP Netweaver-based and HANA based technologies and systems. You will provide technical leadership for critical projects as well as higher level production support while interfacing with internal IT teams and global support teams.

The position entails building strong relationships with peers and other IT teams and collaborating on complex projects and efforts. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, the desire to build and participate in a collaborative environment, and is committed to skillfully executing on technical tasks while ensuring evolving knowledge is captured and shared with others.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment, based on system lifecycles.
  • Maintain and monitor SAP systems for day-to-day performance.
  • Manage SAP printing and faxing output.
  • Troubleshoot problems with connectivity, web services, and overall aspects of the SAP solution.
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance of SAP systems.
  • Maintain SAP performance by planning and executing SAP performance tuning. strategies, based on metric-based service level objectives.
  • Work with domestic and offshore service providers.
  • Collaborate with project managers.
  • Design and implement the disaster recovery plan for the SAP operating systems.
  • Coordinate Early Life Support (ELS) for new implementations and changes to SAP technology.
  • Maintain related knowledge throughout an effort’s lifecycle and ensure timely sharing of that knowledge to peers and support areas.

 

Experience

Required

  • 3 years’ experience in any of the following:
  • SAP Administration experience in a production support environment
  • Supporting multiple SAP implementations and upgrades (e.g. SAP, ECC, SCM, CRM, SRM, NetWeaver, HANA, SAP Portal, BI, Business Objects, PI/PO, and related SAP modules)
  • Implementation and support of SAP HANA technology

Desired

  • 3 years’ experience in any of the following:
  • Formal troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques
  • Experience with administration level tasks in any of the following: Storage technologies, Unix and Windows based systems, network technologies, database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, HANA)
  • Working with the SAP lifecycle from implementation to end of life

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard SAP maintenance activities, including: support packs, enhancement packs, kernel upgrades, client copies, monitoring, transports, etc.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and configure SAP applications
  • Ability to work with diverse teams, including 3rd party resources in remote locations
  • Ability to provide strong facilitation across multiple teams
  • Knowledge of key database support functions backup, recovery, performance
  • Familiarity with OS principles, navigation, and file systems
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes required (v3)

Education

Required

Bachelor’s Degree

  • Information Technology degree or related field of study
