R&D TEM Engineer - Technology Development

As a TEM Engineer at Micron's Analytical Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Lab located in Boise, Idaho, you will work with R&D research groups to develop new processes, new materials and work with Fab engineers to expedite processed for product transfers and improve yield.

 

Successful candidates for this position will be placed at either Associate Engineer or Engineer level based on previous experience on analytical TEM work and education.

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare TEM specimens
  • Develop new techniques for TEM sample preparation
  • Perform daily TEM analysis, specifically nano-probe analysis using EDS and EELS
  • Communicate with customers

  

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and interested in learning (training and coursework).
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, as needed.
  • Experience in creative problem solving and innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Understanding of physics, chemistry, thermodynamics (through coursework or employment)

 

Note - This is a shift position: E Shift - Sunday through Tuesday and alternating Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM. 

 

     Education:

     BS/MS in Materials Science & Engineering or other Engineering degree with Solid State Physics and related key courses.
